Pat Robertson told his lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender viewers to “come out” as straight people on today's broadcast of the "700 Club."
He said "thousands" of gay people have called the "700 Club" and said: "Yes we want to follow Jesus, we’re not happy with the lifestyle we’re in and we want to have a better way."
Robertson claimed that gay people are not really gay, but are actually confused because of child abuse or “chromosomal damage," notes RightWingWatch.org.
“A lot of people are into this homosexual thing because they’ve been abused by a parent, abused by a coach, abused by a sibling, abused by a friend," Robertson said (video below). "They’re little boys and little girls and they don’t know any better. And then they somehow think, ‘Well, I must be gay.’ They aren’t. They are heterosexual and they just need to come out of that.”
Popular VideoThis judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:
He added: “There are others, maybe they’ve got some chromosomal damage, that’s different from heterosexuals. And that’s of course what they claim in the homosexual movement. They say, ‘Hey, you can’t come out of this under any circumstances.'”
There is genetic research into homosexuality, which includes chromosomes and other factors, but nothing has been confirmed as an isolated genetic cause, reported PBS.
