Pastor John McTernan Blames Hurricane Sandy on Pres. Obama and Homosexuals
'Defend and Proclaim the Faith Ministries' Founder and Pastor John McTernan has blamed Hurricane Sandy on homosexuals and President Obama, reports Gay Star News.
McTernan reportedlty wrote on his blog: "If you add the area of the drought and now the hurricane together, it would be about 80 percent of the country! As I said, the Holy God of Israel is systematically destroying America right before our eyes."
"Just last August, Hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans seven years later, on the exact day of Hurricane Katrina. Both hit during the week of the homosexual event called Southern Decadence in New Orleans!"
McTernan added: “It appears that God gave America 21 years to repent of interfering with His prophetic plan for Israel, however, it has gotten worse under all the presidents and especially Obama. Obama is 100 percent behind the Muslim Brotherhood which has vowed to destroy Israel and take Jerusalem.”
He also attacked Mitt Romney as well: “Both candidates are pro-homosexual and are behind the homosexual agenda. America is under political judgment and the church does not know it!"

@Way4JC I am sincerely
@Way4JC
I am sincerely curious and not trying to be rude. Do you honestly think the way you speak to people about your religious beliefs is in any way shining a light on God's love? (Matthew 5:16).
As for your assertions about abortion and homosexuality. Doesn't the Bible at least imply something about God giving people free will? (Deuteronomy 30:19-20, Joshua 24:15 Matthew 22:1-3) If that is the case, then perhaps people who try to force their beliefs on others through governmental regulation should consider that quite possibly (well, no - they are, but hey, I'd be thrilled for people to even consider that it is possible) they're overstepping their bounds. If people believe homosexuality and abortion are sins then *they* shouldn't have same gender sex or abort a baby. If other people don't agree, well that's their choice. That's the whole rub with that pesky "free will" concept, isn't it?
Our society as a whole has deemed some things unacceptable. Over time ideas about some of these things have changed. If half the country (or more) doesn't share the religious right's opinion about homosexuality and abortion, then how about a little love and acceptance of PEOPLE even if we don't like their behavior? How about letting the LOVE of God shine through what is said and, even more importantly, through action? Perhaps the reason so many people oppose any sort of religious ideation is because of all the "loving" folk who are nothing but judgmental hypocrites. (Matthew 7:1-5)
In my opinion, the best way to get people to see things your way is to give them something good to follow.
Have you been paying
Have you been paying attention? Haven't you heard about the Fortnight for Freedom by the Catholic Church in response to the Obamacare mandate that will FORCE them to pay for abortions against their sincerely held religious beliefs? How's that for "love and acceptance". BTW, Sondra, God doesn't operate on human whim and thank God he doesn't. He's not bound by popular opinion. Once again America was given the chance to act in faith (i.e. Fear God in regard to Sandy) or depend on their chosen "messiah". They chose the messiah. We've been butchering babies in the womb for nearly 40 years. A third of all women who enter an abortion clinic never come out alive. We're as barbaric as the Nazis, yet we think we're so wonderful. I preach regularly at a strip club. Almost everyone likes to be told God loves them. It's non threatening, but that's not the full counsel of God. The flip side is you must repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. That goes for gays, prostitutes, "johns" and everyone else. Failure to do so is eternity in hell. That kind of preaching could land you in the hospital. Some won't wake up until they're standing at the White Throne judgment and see the Lake of Fire off to their right. That's where the goats go. It'll be too late then. As one of my pastors put it, spending all eternity in hell is.. "unthinkable".
The ACA has employers pay for
The ACA has employers pay for health care - it's none of the employers concern what treatments or procedures the employees are getting, and they really shouldn't have any input on what care people are able to receive, period.
Thank God that God is imaginary, because Hell would be having to spend eternity in the company of the bigoted, judgmental hypocrites that pass for his worshipers.
The reason you are failing outright to win any converts to your religious arguments is this: you are assigning ultimate penalties for trivial offenses based on judgment handed out by self-qualified hypocrites, and you offer no evidence or proof that any of what you say is true. Repeating the penalties and what you believe without evidence makes your claims look thinner and thinner each time. I don't expect you to believe that I really wear an actual occupied 4-story apartment building as a hat without evidence that it's true, so don't expect me to believe your fanciful fairy tales without proof that sets them apart from any of the other thousands of religions that man has dreamt up.
It's funny, the only people calling Obama "the One" or "the Messiah" are people who are opposed to him and can't come up with a better reason for it than they just don't like him, or they don't like the people who do like him. Your criticism of him is a condition of your own creation, and is as empty of content as your religious claims, if not more so.
Murdering 56 million babies
Murdering 56 million babies in the womb by tearing them apart without any anethesia is not a trivial offense. God is invisible and so God is only imaginary to those who don't have faith. By the way, it was Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan who first called Obama "The Messiah".
Oh... and you said "Once
Oh... and you said "Once again America was given the chance to act in faith (i.e. Fear God in regard to Sandy) or depend on their chosen 'messiah'. They chose the messiah."
A quick question. Many Republicans including the talking heads on FOX News have remarked that President Obama's actions with regards to Superstorm Sandy helped with his re-election efforts and hurt Governor Romney in his bid to take office.
Did God change his mind?
And what's up with the drought in the Southern (RED) states where so many of the devout live? Are they being punished? And the tornadoes that create so many problems in the South and the Mid-West? Seems like they take a lot of thrashing from the weather in those more spiritual areas of the country...
If Americans saw this as a
If Americans saw this as a judgment from God they would flee Obama (because he does evil) but they didn't and they haven't. I 've heard about the drought and haven't really formulated an opinion about it, except America as a whole is under a curse. I have been wanting to look into it for a while now. However, God is able to protect his own even in the midst of a calamity, although he doesn't really have to because (and this is a hard pill to accept sometimes) we are entirely indebted to him for our salvation no matter what happens. But he's a loving & gracious God and so I have heard & I myself have experienced miraculous deliverances in time of need and great distress! HALLELUJAH Daniel 9:9 The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him
... a loving a gracious god
... a loving a gracious god that kills the 31% of pregnancies that get started by couples, as that's the percentage of spontaneous abortions (miscarriages) that studies have detected so far in the first 19 weeks of pregnancy for the general population.
I haven't heard that
I haven't heard that statistic. It seems a little overblown to me. I've been in church for 35 years - nearly one third - no way! However some couples do have difficulty conceiving and bringing to term a healthy baby. Miscarriages happen even within the church. We live in a fallen world. God is able to heal. I've been healed. It's not a guarantee. It's something we have to have faith for and that's why these couples need to seek prayer. Proper teaching is essential. Sometimes Jesus chooses to heal people sovereingly - I've seen that in my own ministry. A lot of it depends on your own faith and that is where, as I've said - proper Biblical teaching is essential! "Cityboy". I'm sorry but that sounds gay to me. Am I right? No offense, just an observation/impression. Jesus can deliver you too.
I think that in spite of
I think that in spite of missing the point, you've proven the point.
If you truly want to convince people to at least consider your point of view, perhaps it would help to change the way you present the message. You sound like you are very angry, quite judgmental, and have more of a loathing than anything loving with regard to people who don't share your beliefs. That may not be how you actually feel, but it's definitely how you come across in print (at least to me). It's unrealistic to expect that people would be anything but completely unresponsive to a message presented in that manner.
You said, "A third of all women who enter an abortion clinic never come out alive." Could you provide a reference for that? Or are you referring to that period of time when abortions were *illegal*?
You also said, "I preach regularly at a strip club."
Ohhhhhhh.... I always thought men went there to... uh... nevermind.
Sorry, I couldn't resist ;)
That's just the full counsel
That's just the full counsel of God as I've said. You can't just think God loves me and I'm going to heaven and keep on doing evil. However God is patient, very patient. IICor 5:11 "Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men." I came to God out of fear - it works - but God has also had to show me that he loves me. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. Dr. David Jeremiah has a new book out called "God Loves You. He always has. He always will." Recommended reading.
BTW, the observation that 1/3 of all women never come out of an abortion clinic alive is just simple math. All women that enter an abortion clinic have either a boy or a girl. So the girls that are killed comprise 1/3 of the women who enter. It is so characteristic that we've become so callous as to not even recognize the humanity of these babies! I have heard this stated as "Half of all women" but that disregards the male babies, so I've made it a third.
Yeah, they do go there to...uh... I tell them they sacrifice their integrity by going there. Years ago (my 20s - I'm in my 60s now) I went to one of those places. I remember sitting there looking at the naked lady dancing in front of me and thinking "It's just you and me babe, it's just you and me.". Then I looked around at the 25 other fools all sitting there thinking the same thing and I never went back. I tell the girls "They don't have to sell their bodies." Can I be tempted - sure (even at my age). I don't go in the actual stripper part of the operation, but I have gone into the bar next door that has stripper poles. I know I'm being successful, because they've kicked me out of the building and now have physically driven me from the parking lot. But now I can actually impact more people because I street preach and can do so from the sidewalk. I don't recommend this for all people 'cause God has given me a special calling to do this. And he's promised me protection.
The sad thing is that god
The sad thing is that god never said any of the things you've attributed to him.
Not trying to be a smartass
Not trying to be a smartass or anything, because I honestly do believe that was a well thought out and verbalized statement.
Maybe you should find a way to send that idiot your message....send it the same way you wrote it and encourage your fellows to do the same. Not sure if it will bring that fool any enlightenment, since he doesn't really know his own religion and he is clearly a power-monger, but you never know. If enough (I presume that you are one of those rare thinking Christians) of you folks start reminding these idiots about how far wrong they have taken your religion, then maybe they can produce some hope for it.
It is certainly guys like him that are making the rest of us glad that Christianity is going to be dying off in the new age of enlightenment which is about to dawn.

Thanks for the suggestion. I
Thanks for the suggestion. I don't consider myself associated with any religion, but in my younger years I studied the Bible quite extensively. I am amazed at the number of professed believers who have not done the same.
I do consider it sad that so many people who identify as Christians don't focus more on Jesus' message of love, hope and forgiveness. I find those qualities much more appealing than judgment, condemnation, and hate.

Since hurricane Sandy seems
Since hurricane Sandy seems to have helped Obama in the election and may tip him into the winner's circle on Wednesday morning, is this a message from god that Obama is the right man?
It seems his statements are
It seems his statements are no more disingenuous than Mayor Nanny Bloomberg's claim that the storm was the result of man-made global warming. Neither has any scientific basis.
Like CRW has said, Global
Like CRW has said, Global warming is a scientifically demonstrated fact. It does follow a cycle of warming and cooling, however, this cycle is showing to be worse than any in the past few hundred thousand years.
THAT is because of man made effects on Global warming through the massive addition of our unrestricted greenhouse gas emissions.
If you are going to be stupid enough to say that something has no scientific evidence to support it, then at least know a little real science, because denial does not constitute proof.
http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/
Who are you going to believe; the scientists at NASA or the idiots that deny in the hopes that they are right, in contradiction of ALL reliable evidence?
The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
@raptorcat: Show me the facts
@raptorcat: Show me the facts => "Like CRW has said, Global warming is a scientifically demonstrated fact. It does follow a cycle of warming and cooling, however, this cycle is showing to be worse than any in the past few hundred thousand years."
Lets assume we have 100% accurate temperature records for the last 5,000 years for every place on earth. If the earth is 4.54 billion years old (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_Earth) then we would only have records for 0.0000001% of the total time. If we look at your number last few 100,000 years then a few would be, what 3? So that would be 0.0167%
Where are your scientific facts to back up your statement??
The Catholic Heretic
We have research that shows
We have research that shows these patterns in ice samples taken at the poles and from glaciers that have been around since the Ice Age, which are now diminishing pretty badly.
We have temperature readings from the past 150 years as well as record by prominent individuals from all over the world in their daily journals, showing unusual variations in temperatures (rising and dropping seasonal temperatures, early/late frosts, winters with unusually heavy or unusually light snowfall, droughts, etc.) going back even further.
Remember that record keeping is not a recent thing.
Did you even look at the NASA link that I posted? Silly me, of course you didn't.

Will those 3 be enough, or will you need more?
I see in you a problem with assuming that science is unchanging; that is wrong. Only the process of examination and peer review of evidence is unchanging. Science works on evidence, not conjecture, supposition or the supernatural. Evidence, measurements and repeatability of experiments is what they use to determine these things.
No one wakes up one day and says "Hey, I think that 'X' is happening, so it must be." No, that would be religion.
Science wakes up and says "I think that 'X' is happening, so I will do some experiments and take some measurements and retest my hypothesis to see if I am right or not.....then I will let others do the same and see if they match my findings. If everything is consistent then 'X' is happening, otherwise it isn't." THAT is how science works.

@raptorcat: I looked at the
@raptorcat: I looked at the site first. A lot of conjecture and theory. What about the little ice age? The guess right now is that the oldest ice on earth is around 8-10 million years old so even using CO2 levels as a basis for warmer temperatures you are still looking at a small percentage of time relative to the age of the earth. If man really is the reason for global climate change, which seems to be the main point of the NASA site (See rising CO2 levels) then the world would be better without man.
"I see in you a problem with assuming that science is unchanging; that is wrong." - That is your assumption and it is wrong.
We don't know if this is a short term (also relative) or long term cycle. If the earth and solar system go through 10 million year cycles there is no way we could know that for sure. Observation can only tell us so much. It's always proper to question any science. Where was Physics 100 years ago? 1000 years?
Also you brought religion into this, not I. What purpose does man serve on earth? Based on all evidence you present, we are destroying it. If man ceased to exist today the earth would survive just fine, unless it was hit by some cosmological object or a catastrophic solar event happened.
Click on some of the links in the site you have and then look further, don't assume. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2000_Year_Temperature_Comparison.png) (http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/lonniepnas.htm) (http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/ctl/clisci10k.html)

Yes, I know about the mini
Yes, I know about the mini ice age....we were coming out of it around the end of the War of the Rebellion/Civil War.
And you seem to fail to understand the difference between the denier/creationist version of the word "Theory" (a guess) vs the scientific usage of the word "theory" (an explanation that is fully supported by known evidence).
Don't misuse the word theory around me, because I WILL call you on it.
As stated previously, the Earth does go through these warming and cooling phases, but since the beginning of the industrial revolution, man's impact on those changes has increased exponentially. Add to that, the massive increases of industrial pollution that is not affecting green house gasses, but is affecting the environment in general and you have a recipe for disaster.
Burying your head in the sand through denial will NOT make it all go away.
As far as this being a short or long term warming trend; that really doesn't matter. What DOES matter is that we have been making the warming trend WORSE THAN IT WOULD OTHERWISE BE. Do you get it now?
This could create a dramatic change and bring about a catastrophic climatic shift that people like you are completely unprepared for. It is even possible, and has been suggested, that we have gone beyond the tipping point and are heading to a disaster that we can no longer avoid.
Perhaps you should be looking at what real scientists have to say instead of reading what the deniers and their bought and paid for shills are saying.
The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
@raptorcat: We probably
@raptorcat: We probably passed the tipping point well over 150 years ago. You're only looking at one piece when there are may pieces on the board. You make up all kinds of things about me because I am a Christian. STOP IT! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow0lr63y4Mw)
Take a look at another piece => http://www.radford.edu/~wkovarik/envhist/1ancient.html
Theory => http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/theory
"...an explanation that is fully supported by known evidence"
Sorry, don't see that in the definition of the word.
The Catholic Heretic
Not according to what I have
Not according to what I have been reading. We have most likely, some say it has already happened, passed that tipping point recently (within the last 15 years or so). 150 years ago, we were nowhere near it as the industrial revolution had only just begun. Massive deforestation and excessive greenhouse gasses had not been produced until the early/mid 1900's (post WWI to pre-WWII).
As far as making anything up about you, I don't have to make up anything about you. I make presumptions based on your behavior and statements. I look for and see consistencies in what you say/claim. You are a denier, plain and simple.
You argue as if man made global warming has had NO effect on climate change, yet it has. It has had an adverse affect, making it more pronounced and dramatic than any time in recorded history because it has had a more profound effect on it in any time in recorded history.
I have never said that it was all man-made, nor that it is ALL natural; I am not delusional, nor am I delusional enough to ignore the proven fact that the Earth has gone through periods of global warming and cooling. But I do recognize man's involvement in making it worse during this particular warming cycle and we are not a completely innocent species in this; we have exacerbated the problem instead of adapting what we do to minimize our effect on the problem.
We have virtually ignored, until it has become too late, almost every viable alternative energy source. Did you know that scientists have come up with a way to beam solar energy from space to the Earth surface? I read the article in the papers a few months ago and it is fascinating technology. Too little too late for this warming trend, but it will help in the future, if we would only continue to fund NASA research. There is even a portable wind generator that the mast automatically lowers itself in high winds to prevent damage; perfect for humanitarian aid missions and small remote villages...no need for big, noisy, gas sucking generators. And in respect to wind power, there is also a couple of different "bladeless" technologies out there that would remove the need for those massive fan-type wind generators. And in the places where it is possible, we still have the old reliable hydroelectric.
As far as your understanding of words; You like to use the word "Theory" in the colloquial sense, when you are talking about science, but that is the way a liar argues a point. When I use the word "Theory" I use it in the scientific sense. That is how an honest person argues.
THEORY is, in the scientific sense, that which is supported by evidence. It is that simple. Theory, as YOU use it is an idea without necessarily having supporting evidence. You are using the wrong word; you should be using HYPOTHESIS, not theory, when you are using the colloquial understanding of the word "theory". You seem to be betting on the side of ignorance of others to make your points. Deniers and creationists and Tea party Republicans do that way too much.
THEORY (take special note of definition #1) [thee-uh-ree, theer-ee] Show IPA noun, plural the·o·ries.
1. a coherent group of tested general propositions, commonly regarded as correct, that can be used as principles of explanation and prediction for a class of phenomena: Einstein's theory of relativity. Synonyms: principle, law, doctrine.
2. a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural and subject to experimentation, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact. Synonyms: idea, notion hypothesis, postulate. Antonyms: practice, verification, corroboration, substantiation.
3. Mathematics. a body of principles, theorems, or the like, belonging to one subject: number theory.
4. the branch of a science or art that deals with its principles or methods, as distinguished from its practice: music theory.
5. a particular conception or view of something to be done or of the method of doing it; a system of rules or principles: conflicting theories of how children best learn to read.
Now, the word that you need to use when you say "theory".
HYPOTHESIS (make special note of definition #1, though you seem to mean to use definition #4)
hy·poth·e·sis
[hahy-poth-uh-sis, hi-] Show IPA noun, plural hy·poth·e·ses [-seez] Show IPA.
1. a proposition, or set of propositions, set forth as an explanation for the occurrence of some specified group of phenomena, either asserted merely as a provisional conjecture to guide investigation (working hypothesis) or accepted as highly probable in the light of established facts.
2. a proposition assumed as a premise in an argument.
3. the antecedent of a conditional proposition.
4. a mere assumption or guess.
Do you see the difference NOW? I told you that I would call you on it when you say something that isn't true. I hope that you have developed the wisdom to believe me now.
The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
I didn't think you were a
I didn't think you were a climate scientist. Was I wrong?
The majority of our scientific knowledge has been accumulated in the last 150 years. Where physics was 1000 years ago is irrelevant to this discussion. Should we doubt medicine because we didn't have antibiotics 200 years ago?
We do not need to save the earth. We need to save ourselves by stopping those things that poison our environment. We have been taking steps like this for over 70 years. Our waters are slowly improving, ecosystems are recovering, but it it is not enough. Some people today would have you believe that we don't need environmental regulation. I invite these doubters to move downstream of the dioxin fields near Dow Chemical in Michigan not too far from where I used to live. They might think differently. When I was a kid, it was a very rare thing to see a bird of prey. Now, there is a Red Tail hawk in our neighborhood that terrorizes our bird feeder. The hawk is a direct result of environmental cleanup.
You need to look at consensus. The consensus is that man-made global warming is correct. You can find doubters with "degrees" who question everything from evolution to quantum mechanics. This doesn't mean they are correct. Science is self-correcting through better data and better hypotheses that become theory.
Even if global warming were not a factor, the ongoing air pollution of burning fossil fuels is a problem. From mercury in fish to the skyrocketing incidence of asthma, burning coal and even natural gas is poisoning the planet. As the world population increases, this will only get worse.
Actually, there is evidence
Actually, there is evidence of changing currents and wind patterns. Global warming is a fact... whether it is man made is the topic people can debate. However, the scientific community is pretty definitive in its position in general.
So, GOD caused the hurricane.
So, GOD caused the hurricane. Alright, so if it helps President Obama win the election (by looking in-control and presidential) then GOD willed him to be president. Be ready to eat your own comments. What a jackass.
"How do you know so much about everything?'" was asked of a very wise and intelligent man; and the answer was "By never being afraid or ashamed to ask questions as to anything of which I was ignorant." - John Abbott (1821-1893)
He can't prove that all these
He can't prove that all these natural disasters are god's wrath for us not executing preachers that sexually molest kids, sleep with their parishioner's wives, steal funds from the church, or use church funds to purchase south african diamond mines that employ child slave labor - and continue or even expand those practices afterward.
Isn't doing those things under the color of god's authority and in his name a bigger sin than just doing quietly doing them for your own gain?
my roomate's mother-in-law
my roomate's mother-in-law got paid $20173 last month. she has been making cash on the internet and bought a $318000 home. All she did was get lucky and work up the tips exposed on this site Ace32.com
Someone should tell your
Someone should tell your roomate's mom that prostitution isn't legal and she's really at risk for contracting yet another one of those pesky diseases - didn't the last 4 teach her anything? You are right: all she did was "get lucky" and "work up the tips exposed"
It is sad to admit that about
It is sad to admit that about 10% of Americans are so superstitious & uneducated that they believe in demons, Gods who throw thunderbolts & control the weather and scapegoating/sacrificing others in times of natural disasters. It seems like only yesterday when these zealots were claiming a retro-virus could determine between gay & straight sex, but since straight women and children have become the primary victims of AIDS around the world, these preachers had to find some other reason to incite hatred at homosexuals. If there is an all powerful entity that hates gays, why hasn't Norway, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands and the other 6 nations who already have gay marriage been wiped off the planet?
Christians in the US should be embarrassed & ashamed defending the medieval garbage coming out of the mouths of these right-wing zealots. I am ashamed for them.
I find it amusing that so
I find it amusing that so many "religious" people seem to focus on only two "sins" - homosexuality and abortion. You don't hear this sort of outrage over lying, cheating, stealing, judging, or lack of empathy for the weak, sick, and poor. You don't hear adultery, fornication or coveting blamed for natural disasters. How about hypocrisy? Jesus seemed to especially have an issue with that... You'd think a lot of these people would be blown off the face of the earth if hypocrisy led to natural disasters.
This is homophobia, plain and simple.
Excuse me, but murdering 56
Excuse me, but murdering 56 million infants by ripping them apart in the womb of their mothers is a little more serious than lying, cheating or stealing don't you think? Maybe we'll start with the big stuff and eventually we'll get around to the lesser offenses! Homosexuality is one of those "abominations" in Scripture and is a total repudiation of the God ordained, Holy Matrimony, given to us in Scripture. I don't see anyone trying to legalize lying, cheating or stealing, do you? I'm getting a little tired of all the liberal myopia. If you would just approach these things with a sincere seeking heart, then maybe you would see through the shortsightedness of liberal opinion. God can help - He's willing, so ask Him!
At 7 weeks a fertilized
At 7 weeks a fertilized embrio is barely the size of a pin head. It has no brain, no nervous system, no feelings of any kind. At 8 weeks when most abortions are performed this embrio is nothing more than a cluster of cells with no functioning organs or muscles. This is basic biology 101. Showing young girls photographs of 7 month fetus's is a lie. Spreading lies only discredits everything you are attempting to do. Passing abortion legislation only kills tens of thousands of young women a year, as it did before Roe v Wade. Young women will continue to assert control over their own bodies. Slavery only heightens a human beings determination to be free. Trying to enslave women through the law didn't stop abortion in the past. It simply caused more deaths, mutilations & sterilizations. Honest education & contraceptives are the ONLY way to assure that every pregnancy will be welcome and every child will be wanted.
Have you even thought about what kind of national debt this nation will incur if every abortion becomes an unadoptable child dependent on the State for 18 years? Do you even know how many unadoptable children are currently living off the State? Every year, the US has approximately 50,000 legal adoptions, while over 100,000 remain in the system. Tell me, Way4JC, how many children have you & your family adopted? My family has adopted 6 orphans, but I will never vote in any law that forces you to adopt or takes away your choices. Voting for freedom of choice is not the same as forcing anyone to have an abortion. It is simply honoring God's choice to give each human being free will.
It could also be Allah
It could also be Allah punishing the US for its war on Islam, or Yahweh punishing the US for worshiping false profits, or Ishvara punishing the US for its perverted hypocrites like McTernan.
Or more likely it is just a natural disaster that happens now and then, and nothing to do with McTernan's lust for bum action with boys, or any other morality issues in the US.
Oh and one other thing, with
Oh and one other thing, with respect to this article and this jacked up pervert claiming Obama has something to do with severe weather.
So, does the fact that the Deep South, that is solid republican and ultra conservative, mean that God is punishes them with hurricanes?
Worse, in my home state of Texas, where Democrats haven't ruled since Anne Richards, the state gets wildfires, biblical droughts and floods in the Summer along with catastrophic tornadoes and hurricanes. Why would he blame Obama, but not Rick Perry in Texas? or the other GOP governors and legislatures in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc.? If it's "bad" policies that God is allegedly upset about, what accounts for ALL the massive and catastrophic weather these republican-run states endure?
Where are all of the other republican bloggers on this article?? NOTICABLY ABSENT.....Predictable!! Yes. I can't wait to hear how they'd answer my questions.
What I find interesting is
What I find interesting is that people on the Secret audio Mitt and Ann Romney blog, who attacked Obama and his administration, are predictably not here. Where are Racefish, surfer dude, EO9835, Stranger and Nick Barton??? It's clear that when republicans act like asses, republicans who talk tough on these blogs, go run and high. When I read all of their posts on the other thread, not one of them was telling the truth. One said that only 800K were created. LIE. Another said, that basically everyone in the business community is upset. WHY? Because they're making record profits and sitting on over $2 trillion!!!!!!!!! One even had the audacity to forward readers to a FAR RIGHT, extraordinarily!! radical ultra-conservative rag in the American Thinker. As a republican, I challenged the owner and webmaster of that site, and he backed down because he couldn't take the heat that the far racist, radical, unpatriotic right is setting themselves up to be the permanent minority party by all the hate they spew. Republicans, left and right are leaving the party. Mike Smerconish. Olympia Snowe are just two but as republicansforobama.org illustrates, there are republicans out here that don't buy into the racist, over the top, two-faced, hypocritical, bullshit, that the party is slinging. "Obama has been a disaster" - Stranger....
LOL! I gotta laugh at that pathetic shit. He's ended the war in Iraq. Killed bin Laden (Bush didn't or couldn't do). Created 5.2 million PRIVATE sector jobs. Brought the american car industry back, where Romney is on tape saying he wanted it to go bankrupt. Romney has not released all of his taxes and he destroyed all of his documents as Massachusetts governor. But you won't hear any of other assholes say this. Worse still, Romney is neck deep in the mexican drug cartels, funneling money through Panama! And who is his partner in crime: George H.W. Bush! But neither the conservative or liberal press will tell you that. Racefish, talks about race and Obama. Suitable name, don't you think. Bush, threw out more Blacks onto unemployment than Obama. Bush also started the two wars.
Racefish, surfer dude, EO9835, Stranger and Nick Barton: Where are the WMD?????????????????????????????
We've had 31 straight months of growth!!!! But Racefish, surfer dude, EO9835, Stranger and Nick Barton ignore that completely, as if it just doesn't exist.
Not one of these guys talks about how the GOP started shipping jobs overseas WAY before Obama was a US Senator. I know because I wrote my thesis on it in grad school. Proof? Why won't American companies release the number of jobs overseas??? They won't. They been asked and it's almost gotten to the point of having to use a court order to get it. However, we know. As of 2010, American corporations have sent more 3 million jobs oversea. If any other these were in the military and lived abroad: THEY'D KNOW THAT!!!!!!!
Why won't Racefish, surfer dude, EO9835, Stranger and Nick Barton talk about Solyndra and Fast & Furious scandals???? AH!! You don't say: BOTH scandals were started under George W. Bush!!!
When **some** republicans don't do their homework, they make themselves look bad, as well as the entire party. Every 3.5 years, 3% of republican white males die. Couple that with the fact that the party is aggressively and decisively purifying itself from the likes of Snowe, Collins, McCain, and Chafee. In effect, they are turning themselves into the permanent minority party. But alienating minority groups, and constantly using race as a divisive issue, the Democratic Party, as created an big tent for everyone. Please do not bother with "It's the Democrats who are racist!" Spare me jerkwads. We all know that the party uses race to unify the base and I'm sick of it. Let's face it: The GOP is racist and ALL republicans know it. Build a fuckin' bridge and get over it. If the GOP was so grand, Paul Weyrick, would not have said " "We have to stop the movement of all our manufacturing to China and other foreign countries. If that requires tariffs, starting with tariffs to protect industries of strategic importance, so be it."[40] "If we want to stop or at least reduce outsourcing of jobs to foreign countries, we should tax outsourcing. In my view, that would be a good new tax."
And the most damning thing he said was this:
"I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of the people. They never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down."
To this end, he is admitting that the GOP should do whatever it needs to do suppress voters. THAT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. But let someone go NEAR the 2nd Amendment, and some republicans are up in arms. Pathetic. Republicans want their cake and eat it too......
This is the behavior of a 3 yr old child; In need of a severe asswhipping.
WHAT HAPPENED TO AMERICA?
WHAT HAPPENED TO AMERICA? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE WHO USED TO WORSHIP THE LORD? I know what happened, ARROGANCE! God was just starting to bless us when this country turned her back on him! God was just starting to raise us above anyone else but now we will be under those of our enemy's feet! This will be the fate of those who disobey the lord and try to forget that he is indeed the one who built America, not to mention the world! Woe for those who ought to fight for the idea of same sex marriage in the name of marriage equality and peace, they will be crushed by God, who burned Sodom and Gomorrah for sexual immorality! JESUS, SON OF THE LIVING GOD, KING OF KINGS, RULER OF EVERYTHING, SAVE US FROM THIS WICKED WORLD! AMERICA DOESN'T NEED A DESTRUCTION THAT COMES BECAUSE OF SAME SEX MARRIAGE, AMERICA NEEDS JESUS' HELP! DON'T FORGET WHO GOT US HEAR! HE, THE LIVING GOD, WHO BUILT THIS 'MIGHTY' NATION, WILL CRUSH IT!!! AND ALL OF US SHALL SEE IT!

What is with religious nuts'
What is with religious nuts' love affair with caps lock?
oh God of Abraham, Isaac and
oh God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, open the hearts of these people who oppose your word to yourself! Open their eyes so they can see they are under the influence of the destroyer! God, let your mercy be upon us! Let your hands control our every movement, out thoughts and our minds! JESUS SAVE US FROM THIS WICKED WORLD! SAVE US FROM THE WRATH THAT HAS COME UPON THOSE WHO OUGHT TO OBJECT YOUR WORD! SAVE ALL THOSE WHO ARE ON THEIR WAY TO ETERNAL DEATH WITHOUT KNOWING IT! It is truly shameful to see that America has turned out to be this way when God was about to add blessings to our current one! Not a single person remember the word of God! It is truly shameful!!! what happened to the God who got us here? aren't we gonna listen to him, now that America has become "a super power"? Woe for those who think so, for the wrath of God is upon us, and no one, and no one shall save those whose names are not written in the book of life! JESUS IS LORD!!!!
Enough with the all caps.
Enough with the all caps. Learn how to use that caps lock judiciously and you will seem less of a kook.
It's yahoo's like you that remind me of the bumper sticker that I saw; it said "Dear lord, protect me from your followers".
You guys really DO need to get over yourselves. You don't like homosexuality, then don't do it; same with abortion and birth control. But don't you dare try to force your delusional interpretation of your religions, often self-contradicting, doctrine on the rest of us. If we are not part of your religion, then we don't want it and don't need it. What you are supporting is antithemic to this nation's secular foundations. It is tyranny, plain and simple and we neither want it nor need it.
Allowing people to follow their own consciences is NOT an imposition on your religion and not an attempt to prevent you from practicing your beliefs; it is an affirmation of this secular nation's principles of freedom. You can either get used to it or get out. This is not some fascist state where we will keep you here against your will.
If you want to live in a nation run by religion, then Uganda, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and the Philippines comes to mind.
The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
... or better yet, show up
... or better yet, show up for the first time, have a conversation with folks, and perform one tiny miracle like you allegedly did thousands of years ago every day. Because it's really hard to believe in you when the most miraculous thing you do these days is make your son's picture appear on toast. Oh, and you help one football team win over another (no one would have predicted that one of the teams would win). How about just stopping your own priests from raping your own worshipers' children in your own churches - shouldn't your awesome "power" be strongest there? The people who preach your word to the masses should be the most righteous, closest to you and your saving power, and demonstrate your love for all, right? Also, I'd like a hot dog with lots of good toppings and a beer to wash it down.
I mean, if you created the whole entire universe in 6 days, something like a hot dog and a beer should take you less than a femtosecond to whip up, right?
And here is your tinfoil hat,
And here is your tinfoil hat, posterboard, glue, marker, and stick. Please make a sign and go stand on that street corner... nutcase.
"How do you know so much about everything?'" was asked of a very wise and intelligent man; and the answer was "By never being afraid or ashamed to ask questions as to anything of which I was ignorant." - John Abbott (1821-1893)
No doubt about it...
No doubt about it... McTernan is definitely gay.
I cannot believe someone
I cannot believe someone actually makes the news for some really redic stuff as this.. let me tell it like it is.. either this man has confidence problemss or he just is truly stupid not sure but they can go hand and hand.. I cannot see how this is even relevent in the days things to speak about how can even a sane man can say its gays and lesbians and barak obama the cause of natural disasters??? are you going to blame Hurricaine Katrina on the same or was it the drug dealers and prostitutes that may have caused it?? well my dear John McTernan, what kind of natural disaster can you say will be caused by you??? a plague of death maybe some sort of sexual transmitted disease you got from some unkown hooker you may have had some under cover meeting you may have had that will be exploided in the news ohh or even better that your a pedifile hmm since you do look like one just sayin.. but even better who the hell are you to speak about god!!! you obviously dont read the bible at all or pay attention to the words "dont judge" by the way one who pretends to know and spreads lies as you do is not a holier than thou get your shit straight ~NOT TO MENTION YOU SHOULDNT CALL YOURSELF A MAN OF GOD OR IN GOOD FAITH, WHO spreads negativity among the positive someone needs to go back to bible school!
It's idiots like this who
It's idiots like this who have given Christianity a bad name; who've co-opted the word, and have spiritually (and, some of them, sexually, but I'm mostly just referring, for our purposes, here, to spiritually) abused parishioners with this kind of wrong-headed crap! And so it's no wonder that more and more Americans are self-identifying as either atheistic, agnostic or "spiritual but not religious."
Moreover, it's the classic pattern of conservatives... the very same thing, in effect, that the Republicans did during the Bush43 administration: Run-up the debt, allow profiteers to financially rape the country, then when it's clear that Obama was going to win in 2008, call America's attention to how bad it all is and launch bail-outs and stimuli that it knew most Americans, later, would blame on Obama... especially with Republican telling people in the 2010 mid-terms that it was all Obama's fault; just as they're doing now. They create the problem, then count on America's short memory, and the old Hitleresque tactic of repeating a lie enough times until at least the uncareful and undiscerning will believe it.
Now knuckleheads like this guy are doing it with climate change. Hurricanes are more both frequent and intense now that climate change deniers -- little different from Holocaust deniers -- are doing everything in their power to keep the world doing what it has been doing to destroy the atmosphere and warm the planet; then they blame it on whomever's in power that they don't like. Plus, don't forget that this guy's type believe that the end-times are either already upon us, or will soon be, and so we can do whatever we want to the planet.
Of course, in THIS guy's case, the fact that he's just plain nuts helps, too.

Hey, wouldn't it be just great if there happened to be a city in the US known for its celebration of Gays and Lesbians and general Liberalness all round and this city just happened to be between two major fault lines? If what this crazy pastor says is true, then such a place wouldn't last two minutes!

New York city is where the
New York city is where the Stonewall riots occurred, which started the gay rights movement across the US. New York city and Stonewall are synonymous with gay rights worldwide.
McTernan probably knows this as it is a short distance from his home in Pennsylvania, and he can nip over to New York for a bit of bum action when he feels the need.
