Pastor John Hagee Attacks Welfare Recipients (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Pastor John Hagee claimed on Sunday that God wants people who get welfare to get a job or not eat.

While preaching at the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Tx., Pastor Hagee gave his opinion on helping the poor and less fortunate, noted RawStory.com (video below).

“To those of you who are sick, to those of you who are elderly, to those of you who are disabled, we gladly support you,” Pastor Hagee stated. “To the healthy who can work but won’t work, get your nasty self off the couch and go get a job!”

“America has rewarded laziness and we’ve called it welfare,” added Pastor Hagee. “The Bible says ‘The man who does not work, should not eat.’ I know the liberals hate that verse, but read it and weep! It’s God’s position.”

It turns out President Trump's budget has $2 trillion error in it:

Pastor Hagee was quoting 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which was written by the Apostle Paul (who was unemployed at the time), and was embraced by Russian communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin in 1936.

However, there are over 200 verses in the Bible that command people to help the poor, including Matthew 25:35 which quotes Jesus as saying, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Pastor Hagee didn't mention the billions of American taxdollars that are spent on corporate welfare, notes Forbes.

According to RightWingWatch.org, Pastor Hagee also claimed that undocumented children were being used as cover by “rapists, murderers, pedophiles, drug pushers, terrorists” who are “being treated like royalty at your expense.”
