Pastor Claims 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Is Sign Of The 'Last Days' (Video)

Dallas-based megachurch Pastor Robert Jeffress recently claimed that gay marriage and the film version of the best-selling book "Fifty Shades Of Grey" are signs of the "last days."

Pastor Jeffress made his claims during an appearance on Fox News Radio's "The Alan Colmes Show" on Feb. 10, notes (video below).

"The Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 1 that in the last days it will be terrible times," said Pastor Jeffress. "And that word 'terrible' means lack of moral restraint. And I think we're seeing that everywhere, whether it is the attempt to change the most basic unit of society, the family and marriage by redefinition of marriage. Or the acceptance of perversion. You know, this 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' or Fifty Shades of Perversion. I think that's symptomatic of what is happening."

Pastor Jeffress later admitted to having not read "Fifty Shades of Grey," but claimed it put women "in a bondage situation."

Pastor Jeffress waffled when Colmes reminded him that adults have a right to engage in consensual sex, but added, "I just think this movie may represent a new low in popular entertainment. That's all I'm saying. And I'm just saying the Bible prophesied that in the End Times, there will be a lack of moral restraint. And I think we're seeing that manifested in so many different ways."

According to, Pastor Jeffress told Christian radio host Janet Mefferd on Feb. 9 that he wasn't going to read the book "Fifty Shades of Grey" or see the movie, but added, "Women ought to incensed at this idea of being objectified like that."

"And again that's why I believe, Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:1, 'These last days would be terrible days, days without moral restraint,'" stated Pastor Jeffress.
