Republican Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana was one of several possible 2016 GOP presidential candidates to appear at the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators in Des Moines this week.
The Associated Press reports that the homeschooling movement has a strong influence among conservative Christians in the state.
During his speech, Jindal claimed that Hollywood elites and corporate America, whom he didn't name specifically, were "assaulting the rights of Christians," noted RightWingWatch.org (video below).
Jindal was upset that many Americans are voicing their opposition to so-called "religious freedom" laws and bills that could be used by Christian- owned businesses to discriminate against gay people in the name of religious freedom, reports Talking Points Memo.

We saw a very unusual alliance this week. We saw an alliance between Hollywood elites and corporate America assaulting the rights of Christians. We don't want to have to choose between our fiath, our sincerely held beliefs, and our ability to run our businesses. We need to remind these elites, America did not create religious liberty, religious liberty created the United States of America, it is the reason we are here today.
