During his "Faith and Freedom" TV show this week, Matt Barber of the Liberty Counsel recently claimed that gay people were "purchasing children" when they adopted kids (video below).
Barber and his co-host Mat Staver were discussing a new bill that would help end discrimination against adoption and foster parenting by gay couples.
According to HuffingtonPost.com, the "Every Child Deserves A Family Act" would ban programs that receive federal tax dollars from discriminating against foster and adoptive families based on sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status.
"It's homosexuals, who can't through the natural biological process have children, that are trying to acquire children. They're basically purchasing children. It's like having little pets or something, I guess. And it's egocentric, it's selfish and it hurts children and this bill needs to be stopped," said Barber.

Buying or purchasing children is illegal in the United States.
There are also heterosexual couples and singles who cannot have children "through the natural biological process," but Barber made no mention of banning them from adopting.
