Iowa Governor Proclaims Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance (Video)

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad (R) signed a proclamation on Tuesday declaring July 14, 2014, a day of prayer, fasting, and repentance.

The proclamation signing (video below) was the idea of a Christian organization called Prayer 7-14-14, noted The FAMiLY LEADER.

The proclamation makes references to other religious-themed proclamations signed by Presidents Washington, Lincoln and John Hancock, who was actually President of the Continental Congress, not the U.S.

On their website, the unidentified leader of Prayer 7-14-14 states:

Since 2011 God has been speaking to me through dreams, visions and His word about our Nation. Below I have referenced one dream and given two references, in scripture, that show God speaks through dreams and visions and tells us we need to be able to discern the times..

Prayer 7-14-14 will be hosting an event at the state capitol on July 14, 2014 in response to 2 Chronicles 7:14, which was addressed to Jewish people, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

However, it's not clear how 2 Chronicles 7:14 applies to Christians in Iowa.
