Herman Cain Claims a "Liberal Court" Killed Jesus Christ

| by Michael Allen

Back in December 2010, GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain wrote his version of biblical history in a column for RedState.com, where he claimed that Jesus Christ was killed by a "liberal court."

In his article, titled 'The Perfect Conservative,' Cain makes the claim that Jesus was politically a conservative and that he “helped the poor without one government program” and "healed the sick without a government health care system."

Cain also brags that Jesus "was not read any Miranda Rights."

After running through a list of reasons Cain believes Jesus to be a right wing conservative, the presidential contender concludes that the “liberal court” was responsible for his death:

The liberal court found Him guilty of false offences and sentenced Him to death, all because He changed the hearts and minds of men with an army of 12. His death reset the clock of time. Never before and not since has there ever been such a perfect conservative.

Cain appears to be referrring to Caiaphas,  the High Priest of the Temple, who did put Jesus on trial, but did not have the legal authority to have him killed; that was done by the Roman governor Pontius PIlate

Oddly, Cain seems to overlook in his article that most liberals are for Miranda Rights and against the death penalty, while conservatives favor it.
