Gays Want to be Scoutmasters to Molest Kids, Claims American Family Association (Audio)

During her American Family Association talk show this week, Christian host Sandy Rios claimed that gay people want to serve as Scoutmasters, Big Brothers or Big Sisters in order to molest children.

According to, Rios was interviewing Peter LaBarbera, of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, who added that “homosexuality itself is immoral behavior so we would expect one sin to have other sins lead to it, and that’s exactly what we find” (audio below).

“I guess one big proof that we should have some concern, the activists’ hell-bent determination to make sure that Boy Scout leaders can be gay men and that Big Brothers and Big Sisters can be, well they’ve succeeded with that, Big Brothers and Big Sisters now has no, that’s fine with them, with that organization, that a person be gay or a lesbian and be a Big Brother or Big Sister,” claimed Rios.

“Now they are really determined to make sure they break down Boy Scouts completely, they’ve succeeded to some extent. But that to me indicates an interest of older people being with younger people.”

However, the idea that homosexuals are more often child molesters than heterosexuals has been debunked several times because child molesters are not attracted by the same-sex or opposite-sex adults, but rather younger victims of either sex.

According to the University of California at Davis:

The distinction between homosexual and heterosexual child molesters relies on the premise that male molesters of male victims are homosexual in orientation. Most molesters of boys do not report sexual interest in adult men, however the distinction between a victim's gender and a perpetrators sexual orientation is important because many child molesters don't really have an adult sexual orientation.

Dr. Fred Berlin, a Johns Hopkins University professor, who founded the National Institute for the Study, Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Trauma in Baltimore, Md., says that pedophilia is a distinct sexual orientation marked by persistent, sometimes exclusive, attraction to prepubescent children, reports Time magazine.
