Kelly Shackelford, of the Liberty Institute, recently appeared on the Daystar Christian TV program 'Joni,' where he brought up a court battle between a high school valedictorian, who wanted to say a prayer during her graduation speech, and an agnostic student's family, who did not want to hear the prayer in a public school, reports RightWingWatch.org.

The valedictorian ultimately won the court case, to which Shackelford said: "The one thing that we should all agree on, whether we're atheists or whoever, is that in this country no citizen ever has the right to go into court and to ask a judge to bind and gag another citizen."

Host Joni Lamb added: "If you live in America and you understand that we are a Christian society then you can't be offended by things like that or you shouldn't live here."

Kelly Shackelford, of the

Kelly Shackelford, of the Liberty Institute may believe all the erroneous information she wants to so long as she does not impose her values on others who support the US Constitution that separates church and state, and clearly states that the US Government will not endorse any religious belief on the people. Adherence to a religion is solely an individual's choice. That is the law of the land. Christianity is but one religion that is practiced by Americans. We are a pluralistic society and we must equally respect the beliefs of those who are NOT Christians or even religious. This is the message to social-conservatives like Ms Shackelford needs to comprehend. Legislating your values as people like her are trying to do was rejected in this last Presidential Election. Respect for others means accepting that we are all different but those differences make us a stronger union and nation. While we are at it, let's bring back our original US motto -- E Pluribus Unum (In many we are one [people]

Typical idiotic right wing

Typical idiotic right wing Christian hypocrite. If these people don't like our constitution then they should move to a country where they have Christian Democracy, one of the most oxymoronic titles invented.

America is a Christian

America is a Christian country so love it or leave it. This kind of juvenile logic runs counter to American values of a nation that respects ALL religious beliefs and a Constitution that keeps religion and the State(GOVT) separate, with no endorsing of any particular religion.

So true. No theocracy has ever survived free speech.

The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
