House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-California) appointed Rep. Andre Carson (D-Indiana) to the House Intelligence Committee last week.
However, there was outrage from some people on social media who claimed that Rep. Carson could not be trusted with intelligence secrets because he is a Muslim.
According to the Associated Press, Pelosi defended Rep. Carson and said that he served in a Department of Homeland Security Fusion Center and currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
Christian radio host Sandy Rios said on her show (audio below) last week that Rep. Carson should not serve on the House Intelligence Committee and should be removed from Congress because of “his terrorist connections, his Islamic terrorist connections.”
RightWingWatch.org reports that Rios claimed that Rep. Carson received donations from Islamic Society of North America and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which she said were "unindicted co-conspirators" in the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development case.
NYSun.com reported in 2007 that the two groups were named as unindicted co-conspirators, however, neither group was charged with a crime. The United States Attorneys' Manual frowns upon naming unindicted co-conspirators because they have not committed a crime in the eyes of the law.
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
“This man, Andre Carson, does not belong on the House Intelligence Committee, he doesn’t even belong in Congress, this is disgraceful,” stated Rios (audio below).
Rios then claimed the "left" was after people believe in right and wrong, "specifically Christians."
“Andre Carson is a dangerous person,” added Rios. "And there will be some pushback on this."
