Pope Benedict and Fidel Castro met in Cuba on Wednesday, and the former Cuban leader asked the pontiff, "What does a pope do?"
Benedict said his service to the church and foreign trips take up most of his time. The two octogenarians also joked about their ages during a half-hour meeting at the Vatican embassy in Havana.

Under Castro Cuba was officially an atheist nation, but he reinstated Christmas as a holiday prior to Pope John Paul II's visit in 1998. Benedict asked current leader Raul Castro during a meeting on Tuesday to consider making Good Friday a holiday as well.
