A Catholic Parish in Independence, Missouri, was raided on Tuesday by federal and state authorities after child porn was allegedly downloaded on a computer inside the building (video below).

According to The Kansas City Star, police tracked down child porn downloads to an IP address used by an unsecured wireless network in the offices of St. Ann Parish.

Four computers seized in the raid will be checked to determine if they were used to download child porn, although it is possible outside computers used the parish's wireless network because it was not password protected.

“The church does not tolerate child sexual abuse or child abuse or child pornography of any kind,” Diocese Director of the Office of Child Protection Carrie Cooper told KSHB-TV. “And we will work fully, cooperate fully with law enforcement until this matter is resolved.”

No charges have been filed yet.
