Pastor Steven Anderson, of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Phoenix, Ariz., recently claimed that birth control was turning women into whores.
Pastor Anderson didn't cite any actual statistics in his sermon, but insisted that using birth control was “not something Christians should be practicing."
"According to the Bible, birth control is not right, it is a sin," claimed Pastor Anderson, even though birth control is never mentioned in the Bible (video below).
Pastor Anderson also warned that the plasma of women on birth control is green, which is true, but not dangerous according to BuNewsService.com:
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
Oral contraceptive pills create a harmless chemical reaction with certain proteins in plasma that turn the yellow liquid to green. Moreover, the green plasma is completely normal. Even plasma that looks orange or “milky,” instead of the typical yellow color is safe to donate.
The Friendly Atheist notes that Pastor Anderson then brushed science away: "And people will say, 'Oh, it’s green, but it’s harmless. Don’t worry about it.' [Laughs.] Right, okay, sure. But do you trust them? I don’t know."
Ignoring the scientific facts, Pastor Anderson added, “Not only does birth control do damage to women, it hurts their body if they’re using the pills and it also affects their character, causing them to be an idle, tattler, gossip, turning aside after Satan," noted RawStory.com.
“It promotes promiscuity, it promotes whoredom!” declared Pastor Anderson. “Do not prostitute thy daughter to cause her to be a whore, lest the land fall to whoredom and the land become full of wickedness!”
“A land can call to whoredom. And the United States today, fits that bill. If anybody has ever fit that bill, it’s the United States of America.”
