Lisa Miller is a former lesbian who became a Christian at Jerry Falwell's Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia.
After becoming a Christian, Miller tried to stop her ex-partner Janet Jenkins from seeing their daughter, Isabella, reports RightWingWatch.org.
Miller and Jenkins entered into a civil union in Vermont in 2000. Miller conceived Isabella through artificial insemination, and both women acted as parents.
In 2009, Miller violated court orders for visitation arrangements, and was eventually told by the court to hand over custody of Isabella.
Instead, Miller kidnapped Isabella and fled the U.S. to Central America.
Kenneth Miller, a Mennonite pastor accused of helping Lisa Miller [no relation] flee the U.S., went on trial today.
Kenneth Miller is accused of driving Lisa Miller and Isabella from Virginia to Buffalo, N.Y. where the mother and daughter then flew to Central America.
Today, Bryan Fischer, of the American Family Association, came to Miller's defense (video below).
Fischer claimed that the child was being sexually abused by Miller's former lesbian lover and said that Miller had "to obey God rather than man" and kidnap Isabella.
