A Yemeni woman was allegedly burned to death for her Christian beliefs.
Reports reveal that a woman named Nazeera was cooking breakfast for her family when she suddenly caught fire and wound up burning to death. Her husband Saeed says he was in bed when he awoke to piercing screams coming from the kitchen. When he ran to see what had happened, he saw his wife completely engulfed in flames.
Nazeera allegedly grabbed a bottle of what she believed was vegetable oil and poured it onto a pan, but suddenly, the bottle caught fire, and so did she while her four children watched in horror.
“I rushed out of the room,” said Saeed. “I couldn’t even speak to ask her what happened. All I could think about was putting the fire out and then getting her to the hospital. But my 16-year-old son, he couldn’t stop himself and held on to her, hugging her while she was burning. He got hurt, and I had to pull him away from her.”

Nazeera unfortunately died of her injuries two weeks later, and now, her husband is speaking out about what really caused the fire.
“I was told by one of our relatives that it was a set-up, and they replaced the cooking oil with petrol, which caught flames as soon as she poured it out,” said Saeed, who admitted that the two converted to Christianity from Islam years prior, and their refusal to go back to Islam angered some relatives. That anger prompted the conspiracy to kill the mother and wife.
Since his wife’s death, Saeed has had little help from police and has faced further persecution from family members. Still, he is trying to stay strong for his family, even though he is still grieving the loss of his wife.

“Pray for my children, as now I am their mother and father and only friend,” said Saeed. “We need prayers for God’s strength and to give us strong faith. I want people outside to know that even if we get cut into pieces, we won’t leave Jesus Christ.”
