Christian Activists Want 'Sanctuary Cities' For Anti-Gay Christians (Video)

Some Christian activists are borrowing a tactic from progressive activists who established "sanctuary cities" for undocumented immigrants. However, the Christian activists want sanctuary cities for anti-gay Christians (video below).

Mat Staver, founder of the Liberty Counsel (Christian activist law firm), appeared on VCY America’s “Crosstalk” radio program last Thursday and urged government officials to ignore the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage, notes

Staver said there was resistance in Kentucky, Texas and Alabama against the gay marriage ruling.

"And you know what, if some cities can create sanctuary cities for illegal aliens, why can't a city or a state create a sanctuary city or a state to protect the pre-born?" Stated stated.

“Crosstalk” host Jim Schneider added, "Yeah, yeah, and to protect marriage."

"And to protect marriage, absolutely," Staver agreed.

Conservative Christian activist Gary Bauer echoed the same theme in a recent op-ed that he wrote for the American Thinker.

"Imagine if some city in red-state America – perhaps Little Rock, Arkansas; Dallas, Texas; or Bowling Green, Kentucky – decided to be a refuge for unborn children and refused to grant business licenses to abortion clinics," Bauer wrote.

Bauer added: "What if a city decided that it was important for children to have mothers and fathers, declared itself a sanctuary city for traditional marriage, and refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples?"

Bauer added a faint disclaimer, "I’m kidding, but only slightly."
