Christian Activist: Don't Use Anus As Substitute Vagina

Christian activist Linda Harvey of Mission America warned people on July 25 not to engage in anal sex, which she called "demonic" and a "desire from the pit of hell."

Harvey shared her views in an op-ed for WND, in which she cites a Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which does not mention anal sex.

Harvey lamented that "some self-labeled Christians apparently condone this anatomy-abusing act -- for instance, “gay”- affirming churches," and added, "Accepting homosexual relationships gives de facto approval to this bodily defilement."

Harvey frowned on former megachurch leader Mark Driscoll and his wife for advocating heterosexual "marital anal sex" in a "graphic marriage manual."

Harvey went on to say that Satan "is mobilizing our flesh against us," but assured her readers that "[s]exual perversion can be left behind after repentance and restoration."

Harvey complained about a July 7 Teen Vogue educational article about safe anal sex, and that actress Gwyneth Paltrow was giving similar anal advice.

Harvey also blamed schools that teach students "comprehensive sex education," and declared that "radical educators are ready to ... allow the advocacy of sodomy to children as young as seventh grade."

Harvey continued her dire tone by noting that "anal sex is always radically unsafe," and added that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns about possible rectal perforation, STDs, HIV and infections.

Harvey urged parents to tell their "precious kids" the truth about this "vile act," which she equated with demonic forces:

Anal sex is demonic. There’s no other way to understand it. Using the anus as a substitute vagina is a desire from the pit of hell. This is not cool. It’s sexual suicide and human depravity gone mainstream. The anus is not a genital, and of course, this act mocks the creation of new life. It is essentially the opposite. In the human body, the anus is a death site.

The anus is the point of exit for the body’s waste disposal system, with all the attributes of decay, including a wealth of bacteria and foul odor. And the rectum cannot accommodate the activity of intercourse without the high probability of injury. Only bizarre lusts prompt the use of this part of our anatomy as a substitute vagina. It’s a complete farce, typical of Satan.

Harvey insisted that anal sex "is degrading and totally unnecessary for sexual pleasure," and added, "Even in marriage, this is a sinful, ungodly act that literally and symbolically points to death."

Harvey went on to say that dismemberment could be the next step: "But what if suddenly 'everyone' was talking about amputating fingers for sexual excitement? Where does our lust for odd sensation end?"

The Bible does not forbid anal sex or other types of sex between married couples. Hebrews 13:4 states: "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

A 2011 CDC study found that 36 percent of women had engaged in anal sex with a man, while 44 percent of men had anal sex with a woman.
