Christian activists "Coach" Dave Daubenmire and Mike Heath started a new daily Internet program on Jan. 25, and welcomed anti-gay, pro-Christian activist Peter LaBarbera to their debut show (video below).
According to RightWingWatch.org, much of the program was devoted to their opposition of homosexuality.
LaBarbera warned about schools teaching kids that oral sex and anal sex exist, while Daubenmire complained that schools warn kids not to smoke or do drugs, but do advocate that children participate in the "most destructive behavior of them all," homosexuality.
"If your son came to you and said, 'Hey, Dad, I'd like to talk to you tonight. I need to talk with you and Mom about something really, really important.'
"For that two hours while you're waiting for that meeting to come, Pete, how many parents would be saying, 'Oh Lord, please let it be drugs. Lord, please, Lord, let it be alcoholism. Oh Lord, please let it be that he got some girl pregnant.'
"How many parents say, 'Oh Lord please, don't let it be homosexuality?' That's the truth of it, isn't it Pete, that no parent wants to hear that? No parent wants to hear that, yet we teach it as normal in our public schools. It's unbelievable!"
"It really is," LaBarbera agreed. "You're absolute right, Coach. No family, nobody is saying, 'Wow, I'm so glad I have a homosexual son!'"
According to Daubenmire's website Pass the Salt, he is "a veteran 35 year high school football coach, was spurred to action when attacked and eventually sued by the ACLU in the late 1990’s for mixing prayer with his coaching. After a two year battle for his 1st amendment rights and a determination to not back down, the ACLU relented and offered coach an out of court settlement."
"As a result of the experience, Coach heard the call to move out of coaching a high school team, to the job of coaching God’s team. PASS THE SALT was formed to encourage the Body of Christ to step into the cultural war. 'For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…' PASS THE SALT is convinced that God has given the Body a window of opportunity to take our culture back."
