Designer Launches 'Islamic Doll' With No Facial Features

| by Will Hagle

A new doll has been created by a British designer in an attempt to cater to Islamic customers. The doll, which is called ‘Deeni Doll,’ does not have an eyes, nose, or mouth in order to comply with the Islamic rules regarding depicting facial features.

According to Mad World News, UK-based designer Ridhwana B. built the doll under the guidance of a religious scholar who informed her what would make the product “Shariah compliant.”

“I came up with the idea from scratch after speaking to some parents who were a little concerned about dolls with facial features. Some parents won’t leave the doll with their children at night because you are not allowed to have any eyes in the room,” Ridhwana B. said.

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

According to Asian Image, the doll is being manufactured in China and will be sold for the retail price of £25. Ridhwana B., who previously worked as a teacher at a Muslim school, says designing the doll was a lengthy process that fills a need for Islamic children. “The whole process took over four years from start to finish. The Islamic range in kids toys is quite limited at the moment with few choices. Although this project took a while, I am looking at researching other ideas in the future,” Ridhwana B. said. “I am looking at compiling a book for the Islamic upbringing of children in the future too.”
