Christian protesters have been targeting Target stores in recent weeks because the big box giant changed its bathroom policy on April 19 to allow transgender people to choose their facilities. The latest protester is a man who calls himself the "Radical Reverend," who published a video (below) of his preaching in a store on May 3 on YouTube.
He writes on his YouTube page: "The Radical Reverend talks common-sense addressing the dangers and basic privacy violations of Target's pro-transgender/gender neutral bathroom policy. The American Family Association is calling for a boycott of Target after the retail giant said it would allow men to use the women's restrooms and dressing rooms in their stores."
In the video, the Radical Reverend enters the store, pounds on his Bible and criticizes the shoppers for the retail chain's bathroom policy:
"Attention Target shoppers, your bathroom policy has provoked the wrath of Almighty God, the vengeance of God, the anger of God! I self-identify as the new Target CEO and every single one of you employees has been fired! You are officially terminated for allowing this perversion, for bringing your children into this store that opens the bathroom door to pedophiles and sexual predators! Shame on you America and shame on you parents for putting your money into a sick, twisted company! You will held accountable for God! You will stand before God and the judgment of God will fall on you for every single dollar that you put into this store!"
The man filming the preacher tells another man to go tap him, an apparent signal for all of them to leave the store, which happens moments later.
The Friendly Atheist, the blogger who originally flagged the video, opined: "If anything like this ever happened inside of a church, with atheists barging in to complain about their beliefs, we’d never hear the end of it. And we shouldn’t, because that would be a horrible thing to do."
Fox Business tweeted on May 5 that Fox News radio host Todd Starnes said that Target "has agreed to meet with representatives of the American Family Association." However, Target has not confirmed this alleged future meeting.
