Red Hot Blom Beats Palmer Again

| by

For the second straight day, Blom pummeled the Maryland-native, this time for $495k.

The pair decided to up the stakes last night and play 7,700 hands of $100/$200 heads-up PLO on PokerStars.

To say there were swings in the match would be an understatement with Blom initially winning $200k, then losing $700k and finally finishing with nearly half a million by the end of the night.

Prior to this week Palmer had owned Blom and every time the Swede would get hot it was usually Palmer who would cool him down.

That trend appears to be over with Isildur1 now up more than $1 million in the last 36 hours on PokerStars. Railbirds are buzzing about the possibility of the Swede moving up to $200/$400 PLO.

Meanwhile, an understandably frustrated Palmer has plummeted down this year’s earning’s charts and has seen his over $1.3 million on PokerStars dwindle to under $200k.

The high stakes games were firing on PokerStars last night with MrSweets28 taking down $468k and gavz101 earning $308k.

Meanwhile Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen was the biggest winner on Full Tilt, booking a $287k victory.

In total Scott Palmer lost $576k, which gave him the dubious distinction of losing the most last night.

There were several other big losers on PokerStars last night, however, with LuckyGump (-$325k) and compris (-$238k) falling into the red.

On Full Tilt it was southside1 who dropped the most, spreading $136k onto the tables.

Gus Hansen also finally seems to be slowing down as he lost $99k. The Team Full Tilt Pro is still up over $2 million this year.

It’s been a strange few weeks for high stakes online poker with the PokerStars taking most of the spotlight while some of the biggest names on Full Tilt, including Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and even Tom “durrrr” Dwan, have not been particularly active on the virtual tables.
