Pro-Choice Movement Quick to Exploit George Tiller Murder
Kansas Meadowlark has additional information on George Tiller's killer, Scott Roeder, who is more the paranoid unibomber type, as this snapshot of his life 13 years ago reveals:
Scott Roeder is sentenced to 16 months in state prison for parole violations following a 1996 conviction for having bomb components in his car trunk. Roeder, a sovereign citizen and tax protester, violated his parole by not filing tax returns or providing his social security number to his employer.
But a tragedy such as Tiller's murder is despicably a PR dream for pro-aborts, particularly just as we see the majority of Americans turning against them
I documented in a post yesterday, that on the very day of this man's death a Feministing blogger was considering ways to "turn this terrible tragedy into an opportunity to strengthen the pro-choice movement...."
Newsbusters has a post this morning about pro-abort sites accusing Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Beck of being instigators.
Even I stand accused. A couple of (now unpublished) comments this blog has received:
-- "Rot in hell, you worthless terrorist c*** whore. The blood is on your hands, you vile b*****. You deserve to be sh** on, b*****."
-- "Which one of your followers and supporters shot and killed someone today? You and your sick tactics are not Pro Life. Congratulations. Good Luck when God Judges you. Please tell your Pro Life Whack Job Supporters to stop murdering people."
The goal is to shut us up, to further deny the First Amendment rights of law-abiding, pro-life believers to speak and act against abortion. Do not yield. The Bible says, "If you faint in a crisis, you are weak." Well, this is a crisis, and don't get weak.
Pro-lifers must stand against attempts by pro-aborts and the Obama administration to use this tragedy to take away rights of free speech, for one. Bear that in mind when reading this statement from US Attorney General Eric Holder yesterday:
I have directed the United States Marshals Service to offer protection to other appropriate people and facilities around the nation. The Department of Justice will work to bring the perpetrator of this crime to justice. As a precautionary measure, we will also take appropriate steps to help prevent any related acts of violence from occurring.
Christina Page on RH Reality Check hysterically wrote yesterday:
One can only conclude that like terrorist sleeper cells, these extremists have now been set in motion. Indeed the evidence is already there. The chatter, the threats, the hate-filled rhetoric are abundant.
Oh, please. Someone tell Christina to stop typing until she either gets a grip or gets treatment for her paranoia.
Pro-lifers, remain calm and steadfast. Choose your words carefully the next couple days. Bear in mind this man left behind a wife, 4 children, and 10 grandchildren. Pray for his soul and their comfort.
And do NOT allow the other side to put you on the defensive.

I don't advocate violence in any capacity. I don't believe in the death penalty , and I would have liked to see Tiller turn his life around and do something positive with it. But it's obvious to me that you're arguing completely from your PERSPECTIVE that you and your kind are being hunted by mindless fanatics. That's because you refuse to accept that Pro-Life supporters see abortionists like Mr. Tiller as mass-murderers. Therefore, I would argue that his misguided assassin was trying to protect children who SHOULD have the protection of our government from Mass-Murderers, and that he was NOT killing him because he was a christian fundamentalist wacko. This is not religious zealotry, it's a very real and difficult philosophical problem that everyone should struggle with on a host of issues.
I say this because our history is wrought with these questions, and with the benefit of hindsight we can say... "Well we should have intervened in Rwanda even though it's not our country." or "John Brown led an honorable revolt because Slavery is undeniably wrong." But at the time I'm sure you all would have presented the arguments you're presenting now... right?
I'm very frustrated with this, because as I said, I don't believe in achieving our ends through violence and I'm tired of being lumped in with people like Roeder and subsequently dismissed as a nutjob. But I'm tired of everyone USING this guy like he's some sort of Martyr. It's not a stretch, if you believe that human beings are human beings before they're born, to think, "I just stopped a murderer from killing again." That's the nature of the debate, on your side you're protecting a right to "privacy" on our side we're protecting a right to "life". If our security requirements at airports are any indication, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that the people have spoken and they are far more passionate about life than privacy.
Umm... No.
Whether abortion is morally right or wrong is not the issue here. Dr.Tiller is not even the issue here. The issue is the rule of law and the maintenance of an ordered society . No matter how noble their intentions, individuals cannot take the law into their own hands simply because they disagree with lawful actions of another. Society simply cannot function if everyone starts going around executing those whose actions they disapprove of. Any Individual who resorts to violence is likely to be (correctly) written off as being a "christian fundamentalist wacko" (your words). The only legitimate way to express a pro-life stance is through peaceful activism. The bottom line is, if you have to use violence to prove a moral point, you've already lost the argument.
Doesn't it strike you as odd and somewhat hypocritical that you wrote this post about your first amendment rights while simultaneously decrying the free speech of your opposition?
Cristina Page (no 'h', by the way) wrote an intelligent article regarding the violence of those who associate with your groups. Quite interesting how you refer to the pro-choice advocates as "pro-aborts," further signifying that you honestly have no idea what pro-choice advocacy is about, or what the core of the debate is.
I hope that you heed your own advice: Choose your words carefully. Recently, an anti-choice activist slammed his SUV into a Planned Parenthood here in my state of MN. The despicable violence, hatred, and coercive tactics used by the anti-choice side is undeniable, and you should spend your time distancing yourself from the ever mounting evidence that your advocacy has nothing to do with 'life.'
When such an abundance of lunatics identify with your groups, you might want to consider re-thinking what you are advocating for. It saddens my soul the violence and division that comes with women's rights issues.
Unless I'm much mistaken, the First Amendment grants the right to speak your mind, but it does not grant the right to kill those who disagree with you. Since 1973, how many pro-choice supporters have killed pro-life activists? Is it zero? How many pro-life supporters have killed pro-choice activists? I don't know, but its definitely more than zero. Regardless of the number, murder in the name of 'life' is nothing if not hypocritical.
