A college student confronted 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush (video below) about the threat of ISIS during a campaign event in Nevada on Wednesday.

The student, identified as 19-year-old Ivy Ziedrich, was amongst a crowd of reporters and attendees clamoring to ask Bush questions while he greeted supporters.

“Governor Bush,” Ziedrich yelled as others attempted to get autographs from the former Florida governor. “Would you take a student question?”

Ziedrich caught Bush’s attention, and he immediately approached her. She informed him that she was a University of Nevada political science major and college Democrat. Moments before Ziedrich called out to him, Bush told an audience at the event that he believed the rise of ISIS was impacted by President Obama’s removal of U.S. forces from the Middle East. Ziedrich disagreed.

A police officer saw a young black couple drive by and pulled them over. What he did next left them stunned:

“The threat of ISIS was created by the Iraqi Coalition Authority which ousted the entire government of Iraq," Ziedrich said. "It was when 30,000 individuals who were part of the Iraqi military ... were forced out. They had no employment. They had no income. Yet they were left with access to all of the same arms and weapons. Your brother created ISIS.”

“All right. Is that a question?” Bush responded.

“You don’t need to be pedantic to me, sir,” Ziedrich replied.

"Pedantic? Wow," Bush said.

"Why are you saying that ISIS was created by us not having a presence in the Middle East when it's pointless wars where we send young American men to die for the idea of American exceptionalism?" Ziedrich asked. "Why are you spouting nationalist rhetoric to get us involved in more wars?"

Bush told the 19-year-old that they simply “respectfully disagree” on the issue.

“We can rewrite history all you want but the simple fact is that we’re in a much more unstable place because America pulled back,” he said before continuing on through the crowd of supporters.
