A photo seemingly featuring President Barack Obama’s daughter, Malia, posing in a Pro Era shirt appeared on the internet this week.
According to Fox News, the White House is now reportedly investigating how the potential selfie got out. This has prompted questions regarding whether an investigation into something so irrelevant is really a wise use of taxpayer money.
“Tax dollars just because she is the president’s daughter, so every daughter who has a text sent the WH will investigate it if the mother wants it?” wrote one commentor. “I doubt that.”
“What a waste of our tax dollars, but this lot couldn't care less,” wrote another. “Disgusting.”
In the photo (below), the 16-year-old First Daughter appears to be wearing a white shirt with the ‘Pro Era’ logo in red, green and black. The authenticity of the picture has not yet been confirmed.
Pro Era is a rap collective from Brooklyn, New York. A representative for rapper Joey Bada$$, one of the members, told Gawker that his group got the photo of Malia from a “mutual friend,” but failed to elaborate any further.
A few years ago, First Lady Michelle Obama suggested that the family prided itself on how well they handled their daughters’ social media activity.
