'An Unprecedented Day For Terrorism': Tunisia Hotel Shooting Marks Third Terrorist Attack In One Day

| by Sean Kelly

Gunmen reportedly killed at least 27 people on Friday at a hotel in Tunisia — marking the third terrorist attack in one day.

The attack in Tunisia, which took place at the Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba in Sousse today, ended with one of the gunmen killed in an exchange of fire with security forces, The New York Times reports.

The second attacker was last reported to be on the run. A hotel guest told reporters that she heard at least 30 seconds of gunfire before it became quiet.

The attack comes the same day as a brutal beheading at a factory in Lyon, France, that also left two individuals injured, CNN reports. Additionally, ISIS claimed responsibility for a bombing at a mosque in Kuwait’s capital that took a number of lives.

Sajjan Gohel, international security director for the Asia Pacific Foundation, called the day “an unprecedented day for terrorism.”

It is unclear whether any of the attacks are related, according to CNN.
