Trump Allegedly Launching Plan To Fight Russia Probe

| by Sheena Vasani

President Donald Trump is reportedly launching a plan to help counter recurring scandals and probes related to Russia.

"We're getting street fighters ready to go," one Trump ally said, Axios reports. "The White House is embracing the fight, which is going to last as long as Donald Trump is president."

Trump has often expressed displeasure at media accusations and the way his administration has handled them. Such was his frustration, at one point he even allegedly thought about holding his own press conferences in lieu of the daily press briefings.

While it's not certain if Trump will go through with that plan, he is reportedly already in the process of making other major organizational changes. White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon reportedly left Trump's first international tour to help draft the new strategy.

Rapid response teams may be assembled to tackle bad press about Russia probes, while areas similar to the "war room" could be set up in the White House to tackle leaks, reports the Daily Mail.

Trump is also reportedly building a new legal team that will include attorney Marc Kasowitz.

"He's the type of lawyer Trump likes -- tough, litigious, threatens all the time," explained one GOP official.

By assembling teams devoted specifically to this task, it is alleged Trump is hoping to free up other officials so they can do their regular jobs.

News of his alleged plans have been met with suspicion by some.

"If there was no collusion then why is Trump acting like a guilty man?" wrote one Daily Mail reader. "Wouldn't he welcome and fully cooperate with this investigation to ensure the safety of our country from foreign influence in his ranks if he himself is innocent? I believe [former national security adviser Michael] Flynn and [former Trump campaign manager Paul] Manafort both know very much indeed. It seems like Russia had a plan to get people in close positions of authority to advise (and influence) Trump. This is something that they have been cultivating for years. None of the events that lead to this happened overnight, they were carefully planned for years."

Others approved of the alleged new plans.

"It is about time Trump gets tough with this FAKE NEWS everyday," said one commenter. "Everything you do or say can not be wrong. No one is perfect but to the media I guess it has to be. Maybe they should start looking at their bad reporting once in awhile."
