Ted Cruz Stalker Troy Gilmore, Jr. Inspired By Democratic Party Messaging Materials

The man under FBI investigation for making violent threats on social media sites against Sen. Ted Cruz was inspired by Democratic Party messaging efforts, the Daily Caller reports.

Troy Gilmore, Jr., who says he served in the U.S. Navy, is being investigated for possible violent threats on Twitter against Texas Republican Senator Cruz. Cruz has been the leading critic of Obamacare.

The FBI has talked with Gilmore as part of the ongoing investigation and is monitoring possible violence inspired by Gilmore’s writings.

“Given this is a security manner, all I can say is that we have notified the appropriate authorities of the threats,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told The Daily Caller.

Gilmore allegedly wrote threats against Cruz on his Facebook page, while linking to anti-Republican activist web pages paid for by the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and a Democratic congressional campaign. Gilmore is also under investigation for comments he wrote on Twitter, but his account is now protected.

In one Facebook post published on Oct. 14, Gilmore urged people to “show up at Ted Cruz’s home” and “drag him out,” linking to a petition of House Republicans paid for by the campaign for Democratic Rep. Brad Schneider.

“I WILL SAY IT AGAIN LET’S TO GO TED CRUZ, HOME AND KICK HIS STINKING A** FOR CAUSING THIS MESS. YOU CAN BET HE HAS HIS PAYCHECK AND HEALTH BENEFITS FROM THE SENATE AND CANADA,” read an Oct. 14 Facebook post that linked to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee web page titled, “Demand Ted Cruz Denounce Disgusting Tea Party Attacks on President Obama.”

“So they want to disrespect the ‘WHITE HOUSE’ Lets disrespect Ted Cruz home,” Gilmore continued on the Oct. 14 Facebook post.

Law enforcement officials announced on Sunday they were investigating a series of threats made against the senator by a person who used the Twitter handle [email protected],” and who published Cruz’ Houston home address.

“Its an active investigation,” Officer Shennel Antrobus, spokesman for the Capitol Police, said.
