Comments made by Raphael Cruz during Ted Cruz’s Senate campaign are creating new controversy, as a series of newly released videos are making their way into the public eye.
In the video, the elder Cruz argues for the need to restore a conservative majority within the Senate in order to prevent liberal nominees from entering the Supreme Court.
“We need to send Barack Obama back to Chicago,” the elder Cruz urges. “Back to Kenya.”

He repeatedly called the United States a “Christian nation,” and insisted that the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence “were signed on the knees of the framers” and were a “divine revelation from God,” according to reports from Mother Jones.
He also declared his own son a “political savior.”
“If the winds shift, [Obama] will side with the Muslims,” he added.
According to the elder Cruz, President Obama believes that “government is your god.”

“If we do not take this country back in this election, there’s a very strong possibility that this country will be destroyed by Barack Obama in the next four years,” said the elder Cruz, according to CNN.
The elder Cruz further claimed at that the federal government wants to “take all of your money” and confiscate “our fortunes,” reports Raw Story.
According to Cruz Communications Director Sean Rushton, the elder Cruz’s comments are not relevant when taken out of context.
“These selective quotes, taken out of context, mischaracterize the substance of Pastor Cruz's message,” said Rushton. “Like many Americans, he feels America is on the wrong track.”
Rushton also added that Raphael Cruz does not speak on behalf of the Senator.
