MSNBC’s Chris Matthews speculated last night that the Boston Marathon bombings might have been a Tax Day protest because yesterday was April 15, the deadline to file taxes, reported WashingtonExaminer.com.
“As you point out, and I just forgot, I filed already," said Matthews. "It’s filing day for the federal income tax, which does cause some emotions around the country, sometimes in the wrong parts of the brain anyway."
Rep. William Keating (D-MA), whom Matthews was interviewing, also suggested the bombings might have been a tax protest.

"Normally domestic terrorists, people, tend to be on the far right," Matthews said, reports Newsbusters.org. “I don’t think Tax Day means a lot to the Arab world or Islamic world or al-Qaeda in terms of their world. It doesn’t have iconic significance."
