A writer for "Saturday Night Live" has come under fire for a tweet about Barron Trump.
Katie Rich stirred up controversy after posting an offensive tweet about President Donald Trump's 10-year-old son, Barron.
"Barron will be the country's first homeschool shooter," Rich tweeted on Jan. 20, the day of Trump's inauguration.
Rich later deleted the tweet, and made her Twitter account private, Heavy reports.

A Change.org petition launched in an attempt to have Rich fired from her writing position at "SNL" received more than 7,000 signatures so far.
The petition reads, in part: "Online bullying of children (including and especially those in our White House!) by any adult is [unacceptable] behavior and should not be tolerated under any circumstances If Ms. Rich does not get fired, heftily fined AND issue a written apology to our First Family immediately, NBC should be banned from our White House press room and shunned by our new administration, and SNL should be boycotted into oblivion."
Other comedy writers tweeted similar things about the president's son, according to the Independent Journal Review.
Writer and comedian Joe Mande wrote, "Barron Trump will be mutilating cats on the White House lawn in like two weeks," in a Jan. 21 tweet.
Pete Blackburn of Fox Sports tweeted on Jan. 20, "Barron Trump has killed no less than 100 small animals."
Katie Rich has been removed from the "SNL" writing credits, but it has not yet been confirmed if she has been fired, Inquisitr reports.
