Does Planned Parenthood "Hook Kids on Sex"?
American Life League is kicking off National Condom Week with a graphic video showing how Planned Parenthood hooks kids on sex through its sexual education programs. From ALL’s press release:
As Planned Parenthood kicks off National Condom Week tomorrow, it will also be actively engaged in selling sex to children, as young as those in grade school, with graphic videos and books.
The American Life League compiled a disturbing video of Planned Parenthood’s materials that are presented to school-age children across the country. ALL has compiled a disturbing video of Planned Parenthood’s materials that are presented to school-age children across the country.
“Any parent that sees the video of Planned Parenthood’s material for school children will be horrified,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of ALL. “Planned Parenthood’s business model is aimed at making money from people who are engaged in sexual activity. The earlier PP can get girls having sex, the more money they make. Many of these children will become the women who will have abortions, which made up 51% of Planned Parenthood’s clinic revenue in 2010.”
The video, Hooking Kids on Sex, talks about a book for 10-year-olds with graphic images about how to masturbate, put on a condom and have sexual intercourse.
“If a dirty old man showed this book to kids in a park, he’d be arrested,” continued Sedlak. “Why does Planned Parenthood, a taxpayer-funded organization, get to distribute these books to our children and get more government money?”

WARNING: The video is shockingly graphic. I had some idea of Planned Parenthood’s sex ed program but not as much as I thought…

To me the whole approach by both sides is misguided. Planned Parenthood would teach technique without forethought, consequences and responsibility. Ms. Stanek would keep all in ignorance.
Nature has wired us - all of us - for sex. This is how we reproduce and continue Man. To keep the children in ignorance is to light the fires of desire without any forethought other than some vague half formed thought of future support *if* "things" work out.
This is a recipe for disaster. When - NOT if or should - a child is conceived, young people have no concept of responsibility for that child. What all too many young people discover too late is that the child requires all of their effort and attention to grow.
To the horror of the new parents, the world is not their oyster any more. Suddenly, schooling may be abandoned, jobs must be found *right now*, housing must be found, suddenly there are BILLS. Hopes and dreams are smashed or so radically altered that what dreams there were can no longer be. In many cases, one biological parent will reject the other and/or the child. If the parents weren't hard and cold before, they soon will be.
There are other considerations too. One of the primary one's is the emotional attachment formed between two people who have sex. Denying that attachment each time sex is performed makes the individual just a little more callous.
Both sides take a second look: is this what you *really* want??
Haha, watched the video, unsurprisingly the guy look disgusted after the scenes of the Pride Parade
What a bunch of crap! "Don't talk about sex, and maybe kids won't do it." We already know that abstinence only sex ed leads to higher teen pregnancy and more STDs.
I was a catholic school boy, and *EVERY* straight boy had a collection of dirty magazines by the time they were 14 for some "personal love time." Giving kids condoms doesn't do a thing except maybe protect their partners if they choose to have sex.
Condoms when properly used eliminate the need for abortions. Condoms, like other barrier forms of contraceptives, ensure that no pregnancy or implantation occurs, eliminating the objection that many people have to hormonal based contraceptives. Seems like a big hole in the premise of the story.
If anything, we need to tell these extremists who are opposed to contraception to get get screwed... maybe they will loosen up :p
Kids are going to have sex. It would be much better if they knew about all forms of birth control and how to be a responsible partner rather than putting our heads in the sand and pretending it doesn't happen.
YES! Everybody knows that kids - especially teenage boys - would NEVER have sex or masturbate if Planned Parenthood didn't hook them on this stuff. Without the how to guides and the demos, kids would never have any curiosity about sex and their bodies all by themselves. Planned Parenthood should be burned at the stake for corrupting our youth.
