Report: Trump Spends Evenings Alone, Angry At Press

| by Michael Allen

A new report says that President Donald Trump spends his nights alone in his bathrobe, grumbling about media coverage and exploring the White House.

The New York Times talked to government officials, congressional aides, former staff members and other anonymous observers for its report on the White House.

According to The New York Times, Trump calls it a day at about 6:30 p.m. and goes upstairs to his residence alone because his wife Melania is living in New York City while their son Barron goes to school.

As president, Trump does not have regular public access to his fans, but reportedly watches cable news day and night. Some of his often angry reactions end up on Twitter, where Trump regularly blasts people.

One of Trump's daily routines is reportedly going over news clips with Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary. If Trump does not like a news report, he marks it with a Sharpie pen, according to an aide. The Times story goes on to report that Trump gives Spicer reviews on his performances at morning briefings.

Trump responded to the story on Feb. 6 with a tweet: "The failing [The New York Times] writes total fiction concerning me. They have gotten it wrong for two years, and now are making up stories & sources!"

Trump also attacked "Saturday Night Live" for its Feb. 4 opening skit that had him taking orders from his chief strategist, Steve Bannon, who was dressed as the Grim Reaper, notes RawStory.com.

"I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it. Some FAKE NEWS media, in order to marginalize, lies!" Trump tweeted.

Trump tweeted after NBC News' Bradd Jaffy noted on Twitter that MSNBC's "Morning Joe" crew talked about the "SNL" Bannon skit and Bannon's cover story in Time magazine.

"6:09 am: MJoe showed Bannon Time mag cover, played SNL clip of Trump & 'President Bannon' & discussed 'maybe Bannon’s calling all the shots,'" Jaffy wrote.
