Report: Todd Palin to File for Divorce from Sarah Palin

A published tabloid report says a sensational book about Sarah Palin is the final straw for husband Todd -- that he is "fed up" with her scandals and is set to file for divorce. The report said it could also be the final straw for her White House ambitions.

The controversial book by Joe McGinniss called "The Rogue" makes claims ranging from cocaine abuse by the couple to Palin's one-night stand with basketball player Glen Rice to her alleged affair with Todd's former business partner.

Some might pause to consider the source.

The National Enquirer -- which has indeed broken major news stories over the last few years -- said Todd was particularly outraged by Palin's brother's quote in the book that his sister's marriage was over.

"The final straw was McGinniss quoting Sarah's brother Chuckie telling a friend they don't have a marriage." a friend told the tabloid. "Todd felt as if he was stabbed in the back by his own brother-in-law after 23 years of being married to the guy's sister, and having five kids together."

The friend said Todd is humiliated and feels like he is a national laughing stock.

As far as the alleged affair with the business partner, the couple denied it when it was reported in October 2008. But Palin's former brother-in-law Mike Wooten confirmed the relationship. It ended the business partnership, and it almost ended their marriage.

"Todd and Sarah were headed for divorce, but Sarah got pregnant soon after, so they decided to stay together," Wooten said.

Todd is said to be "fuming" over Wooten's confirmation.

The Enquirer said Palin's political advisers have told her the book should derail any thoughts of a presidential run.

"Sarah Palin has been destroyed by Joe McGinniss' no-holds-barred biography. It exposed all her lies, cover-ups and secrets," a source close to Palin said. "As a result she has been told by her advisers that it would be political suicide to announce a White House candidacy. The press and her opponents would have a field day digging into the dirty details of her background."

When word of the book leaked last week, Todd called McGinniss a "stalker" who has a "creepy obsession" with his wife. Palin has not commented on the book at all.
