According to a Pew Research Center study, more than six in 10 people believe that news media has a negative impact on the country.

The study showed that 65 percent of Americans believe news media “has a negative effect on the way things are going in the country,” with the entertainment industry coming in second at 56 percent.

The federal government, according to 67 percent of those polled, also has a negative impact on the U.S., while 75 percent said the same about Congress. 51 percent of voters also said they believe the Obama administration has a negative effect.

The extensive survey also examined how both Democrats and Republicans rate the government’s performance on issues like responding to natural disasters, ensuring safe food and medicine, protecting the environment and maintaining infrastructure.
