Ironically, conservatives and Republicans were deeply concerned about a possible U.S. military takeover this summer via the military's Jade Helm 15 exercises, noted MSNBC (video below).

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas promised his constituents he would ask the Pentagon about the exercises in July, reported Bloomberg Politics.

Republican Gov. Greg Abbot of Texas tweeted in April: "I've ordered the Texas State Guard to monitor Jade Helm 15 to safeguard Texans' constitutional rights, private property & civil liberties."

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky told a talk show host in April that he would look into the Jade Helm 15 exercises, reported RightwingWatch.org
