Oklahoma Politician Contesting His Election Loss, Saying Opponent Died Three Years Ago And Was Replaced By Look-Alike Or Robot

An Oklahoma congressional candidate who lost the Republican primary to Rep. Frank Lucas plans to contest the election results because he says that Lucas actually died a few years ago and an imposter has been pretending to be him.

Timothy Ray Murray lost to Lucas in Tuesday’s election, and instead of dealing with it normally, Murray has announced his decision to protest the results on the grounds that the Lucas he was running against was an imposter.

“It is widely known Rep. Frank D. Lucas is no longer alive and has been displayed by a look alike [sic]. Rep. Lucas was depicted as being executed along with others on a white stage in southern Ukraine on or about Jan. 11, 2011.” said Murray in a statement. “We know that it is possible to use look alike artificial or manmade replacements.”

It’s not entirely clear where Murray’s claims are coming from, but a spokesperson for Lucas completely denied the claims, saying that the politician is alive and has never even been to the Ukraine.

Lucas himself made a statement to KFOR acknowledging that the allegations are false.

“Many things have been said about me, said to me during course of my campaigns,” said Lucas. “This is the first time I’ve ever been accused of being a body double or a robot."
