Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on the Senate floor today that Tea Party Republicans are blocking an energy bill in an effort to defund Obamacare, which meant the “anarchists have taken over."
"We're diverted totally from what this bill is all about. Why? The anarchists have taken have taken over. They’ve taken over the House, now they’re here in the Senate,” said Sen. Reid, noted RawStory.com.
“We’re in a position here where people who don’t believe in government, and that’s what the Tea Party is all about, are winning and that’s a shame. There's not been a single amendment added to this legislation that has anything to do with energy. Oh, all kinds of issues, defund Obamacare.”
“As the fiscal year comes to an end, I guess that’s what it’s all about. You do what we want, get rid of Obamacare or we’re not going to fund the government. The President of the United States has said he is not going to negotiate with the debt ceiling. The Republicans in the House can't pass a simple funding resolution," scolded Sen. Reid.
