President Obama Says He Never Truly Promised Americans Could Keep Their Health Care Plans Under Affordable Care Act, But Video Shows Otherwise (Video)

President Barack Obama reportedly told supporters on Monday night that he never truly promised Americans would be able to keep their health insurance plans once the affordable care act became law. However, video seems to indicate otherwise.

RT reports that on Monday, Obama claimed that in the past, he said, “You could keep [your plan] if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed.”

However, The Daily Caller notes that videos show Obama promising Americans that “if you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.”

There are at least 29 video recordings showing him making the promise.

Mail Online also reports that at least 29 videotaped examples available online show Obama making the promise between 2008 and this year.

The newly-revealed exception is justified by a higher-priority promise in Obamacare, Obama declared.

“If we had allowed these old plans [to continue] … then we would have broken an even more important promise — making sure that Americans gain access to health care that doesn’t leave them one illness away from financial ruin,” Obama stated, according to The Daily Caller. “So the bottom line is, is that we are making the insurance market better for everybody.”
