Michelle Obama Compares Living in White House to 'Really Nice Prison'

During an appearance at the African First Ladies Summit in Tanzania, first lady Michelle Obama said today that living in the White House was like a “really nice prison.”

Obama was being interviewed with former first lady Laura Bush by journalist Cokie Roberts.

Roberts recalled that Martha Washington, the first first lady, also compared the White House to state imprisonment, notes WashingtonExaminer.com.

“There are some prison elements to it, but it’s a really nice prison,” Obama said.

Former first lady Laura Bush reminded Obama that First Ladies have a chef on the premises.

“You can’t complain, but there are definitely elements that are confining," Obama added.
