A Missouri woman has found herself behind bars after she allegedly crashed her car on the interstate with her child in the backseat. She was also allegedly high on heroin at the time.

Mandy Schlef, 33, of De Soto, Missouri, allegedly fell asleep while driving on Interstate 55 on Tuesday evening. The car moved into the median where it crashed.

When police officers came to her aid, they found her with a syringe in her right arm as well as a spoon and mirror in her lap.

Her 3-year-old child was in a car seat when the accident occurred.

The incident report did not say whether the toddler was injured or not.

When an emergency technician woke her up, Schlef reportedly said that she needed to quit heroin.

Capsules with drug residue were also found on Schlef’s seat.

Schlef has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, driving while under the influence, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, according to KMOV4.

She is being held on a $50,000 bond.
