Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore is calling on President Donald Trump to resign or else risk being impeached.
Moore sounded off on Twitter Feb. 14, claiming that Trump instructed his former National Security Adviser, Mike Flynn, to call Russian officials prior to Trump's inauguration and discuss a range of issues, including the sanctions former President Barack Obama had imposed on Russia just before leaving office.
"Hey, [Trump] -- 1hr after Obama put sanctions on Russia YOU told Flynn [to] call them & promise [them] it'll be OK. Traitor! Resign by morning!" Moore wrote.
Flynn resigned as national security adviser Feb. 13 after it came out that he had lied to Vice President Mike Pence about the nature of his conversation with Russia's ambassador to the U.S., The New York Times reports.

The conversation took place in late December, almost a full month before Trump was sworn in as president. In his resignation letter, Flynn confessed to having given "incomplete information" about his discussions with the Russian government.
"Unfortunately, because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently brief the vice president-elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian ambassador," he wrote. "I have sincerely apologized to the president and the vice president, and they have accepted my apology."
It is against this backdrop that Moore hit out at Trump on Twitter, telling him to resign.
"Um, [Trump] -- It's now noontime in DC & it appears you are still squatting in our Oval Office," he wrote. "I gave [you] till this morning to leave."

In another tweet, Moore described the president as a "Russian traitor."
"What part of 'vacate you Russian traitor' don't you understand?" he wrote. "We can do this the easy way (you resign), or the hard way (impeachment)."
Trump was not the only target of Moore's Twitter rant. He also took aim at the Democrats in Congress, calling them "weak & spineless."
"We demand that the weak & spineless Democrats bring Congress [to] a halt until investigation hearings are held & impeachment charges are filed," Moore tweeted.
The White House has downplayed the significance of Flynn's resignation, arguing that the greater issue is the "leaks" coming from the government about private, internal matters.
"When we have government employees that are entrusted with this and then leak it out, that undermines our national security," White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, according to the New York Post. "That's a real concern for this president."
