McMullin Describes Trump As 'Authoritarian'

| by Ray Brown

Former independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin continues to criticize President-elect Donald Trump on Twitter, describing recent statements by the next president as "authoritarian."

“Like any authoritarian, Trump undermines institutions, obscures the truth & promotes himself as its ultimate source,” McMullin tweeted, along with a link to a news story about Trump's reaction to allegations that Russians hacked the Democratic National Committee and leaked embarrassing emails about how the party operated during the 2016 presidential election.

“I just want [the Obama administration] to be sure, because it's a pretty serious charge, and I want them to be sure," Trump told reporters on Dec. 31 in response to questions about the allegations, according to The Hill. "If you look at the weapons of mass destruction, that was a disaster, and they were wrong. And so I want them to be sure.”

Trump added: "I think it's unfair if they don't know. And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove. So it could be somebody else."

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

McMullin, a former CIA operative and Goldman Sachs employee before he worked for the Republican Party in Washington, D.C., and started his own independent presidential bid in 2016, has gained a liberal following on Twitter -- despite his staunchly conservative views -- because he often criticizes Trump.

“Trump's claim to have exclusive info raises more questions than anything else. What he says now will likely be more revealing than he knows,” McMullin tweeted. “If the media plays his game & repeats 'Trump knows something' over & over, many Americans will believe it. That's exactly what Trump wants.”
