McDonald's Shares Moving Up After Announcement of its Quarterly Cash Dividend
Shares of McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) are going up in the regular trading session today following the company’s Board of Directors announcement that its stakeholders will get a quarterly cash dividend of $0.77 a share of common equity on December 17. This cash dividend is 10 percent higher as compared to McDonald’s prior quarterly dividend and it has brought dividend payment for the fourth quarter to about $770 million.
Chief Executive Officer at McDonalds, Don Thompson, stated that the announcement of cash dividend raise has brought the company’s 2012 anticipated total cash return to stakeholders to more than $5.5 billion via share repurchases and dividends.
Thompson further said that McDonald (NYSE:MCD) has promise to improve the experience of its customers from its menu and operations to its value and convenience. In a very short time McDonalds will become the first priority of people and the first place they want to eat and drink.
