Minimum Wage Trends Across The Country (Map)
The minimum wage is up in 13 states across the country, and that’s good news for those on the bottom rungs of the economic ladder.
Since wage changes tend to make headlines, you’re probably well aware if you live in one of the states where the rate has been bumped up. Want to see what’s happening around the rest of the country? We’ve got a map for you.
The U.S. Department of Labor published this map showing what’s happening with the minimum wage in each state in the Union. The wage is up in 13 states, stagnant in others, and even below federal levels in some places. Twenty states have enacted minimum wage laws that pay workers above the federal minimum level, while four states have minimum wage rates lower than the federal minimum.
