Maine Governor Paul LePage (R) made an anal sex joke about State Sen. Troy Jackson (D) during a rally today in Augusta, Maine.
“Senator Jackson claims to be for the people, but he’s the first one to give it to the people without providing Vaseline,” said. Gov. LePage. “He is bad. He has no brains, and he has a black heart."
The bizarre statement may have been in response to the Maine legislature approving a budget compromise last week that Gov. LePage has promised to veto.
When asked about the insult offending citizens, Gov. LePage told WMTW: "Good. It ought to, because I’ve been taking it for two years.”
Jackson said in response: "Stamping his feet and making these type of comments doesn't do anything to help the people of the State of Maine and I'm 44 years old and I understand that that's not the way that you do things if you're going to be an elected official."
Gov. LePage has made numerous controversial statements since being in office, including telling unemployed people to “get off the couch and get a job,” calling the IRS the “new Gestapo” and advising the NAACP to “kiss my butt."
