Ivanka Trump, daughter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, called for equal pay for women and affordable child care during her speech at the Republican National Convention on July 21 (video below).

Raw Story notes that affordable childcare and equal pay for women are not in the Republican Party platform, but do appear in the Democratic Party platform.

Ivanka talked about the wage gap between men, women, single women, and married mothers in 2014, and added: "As president my father will change the labor laws that were put in place at a time when women were not a significant portion of the workforce. And he will focus on making quality child care affordable and accessible for all."

After describing her life as a working mom of three kids, Ivanka added, "Politicians talk about wage equality, but my father has made it a practice at his company throughout his entire career. He will fight for equal pay for equal work. I will fight for this, too, right alongside of him."

The Boston Globe reported in June that men working on Trump's campaign make about one-third more than the women, while presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has paid men and women on her campaign more equally.

Donald has not talked about affordable childcare or the wage gap between men and women during his entire campaign, notes the Chicago Tribune, but he has called pregnancy "an inconvenience" for the workplace.

Donald said in 2015 that he would support equal pay for women "if they do as good a job" as men do.

Republicans were outraged on Twitter that Ivanka pushed for equal pay for women and affordable childcare, notes Raw Story:

Wait WHAT?! Did Ivanka really just push the wage gap myth?

Ivanka is now preaching crap about the wage gap and mirroring Hillary's agenda on child care. Wait, is she a Dem?!?!

I was a #TrumpPence16 supporter but Ivanka just lost me spewing the falsehood that women earn less than men for same job.

Ivanka is now complaining about the gender wage gap and promising gov't childcare. Guess she wasn't kidding about being not a conservative.

Ivanka's now citing liberal stats on the gender wage gap? Good grief.

Yikes. Ivanka pushing the wage gap myth. Sad!
