Former White House Staffer Says Trump Will Be Indicted

| by Jonathan Constante

A self-proclaimed veteran of three presidential campaigns is saying that an audio tape of President Donald Trump attempting to shut down the investigation into his alleged ties to Russia exists and could ultimately lead to an indictment.

Claude Taylor, who served on the White House staff for former President Bill Clinton, took to Twitter to make the bold statements that indictments for Trump are inevitable, The Inquisitr reported.

“This just in from a source with knowledge of Comey’s investigation. Two grand juries have convened and I know that one is almost complete," Taylor tweeted, according to The Inquistr. "These [grand juries] were empaneled [to] hear evidence. Comey would not be doing that if he didn’t have enough. Chance of no indictments is 0.”

"Any national reporters want to take my wager?" Taylor asked in a later tweet, citing three different offenses for which Trump could be indicted. "Indictments are coming and record will show [grand jury] in progress by this date."

On May 3, FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He said that it is standard protocol to not mention the existence of an ongoing investigation, unless criminal charges are pending or in the rare occurrence where it is in the public's best interest to know about the investigation.

When asked about why he handled former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's investigation the way he did, Comey called it a matter of concealing or speaking.

"Having repeatedly told this Congress we're done and there's nothing there, there's no case there, there's no case there, to restart in a hugely significant way, potentially finding the emails that would reflect on her intent from the beginning and not speak about it would require an act of concealment in my view," Comey said, according to CNN.

This came a day after Trump took to Twitter to discredit the Russia allegations against his campaign.

“FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds!" the president tweeted. "The phony Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election. Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?”

Taylor believes Trump is starting to feel the pressure.

“Trump is realizing at a minimum they have him on Obstruction and/or Conspiracy," he tweeted on May 3. "He’s on tape discussing shutting down investigations.”

If the audio tape exists then Trump could be liable for impeachment for obstruction of justice. Former President Richard Nixon was previously impeached for the same charge.
