Rep. Steve King Calls for Building Fence Between U.S. and Mexico (Audio)

During an appearance on the 'Eagle Forum Live' radio show with Phyllis Schlafly on Saturday, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) slammed the Republican's plan of comprehensive immigration reform and said the federal government should build a fence between the U.S. and Mexico instead, reports RightWingWatch.org (audio below).

Rep. King rebuffed excuses of not being able to build a 2,000-mile fence by recalling how the Chinese built the Great Wall of China, which reaches over 5,000 miles.

Rep. King said that if the U.S. allows “open borders,” then American will become like “Third World countries” where people build walls around their houses and install panic rooms.

Last year, Rep. King said the U.S. should be more choosy when allowing immigrants into the country, comparing them to bird dogs.

Politico.com reported Rep. King saying: "You get the pick of the litter, and you got yourself a pretty good bird dog. Well, we've got the pick of every donor civilization on the planet. We've got the vigor from the planet to come to America" (video below).
