Rep. Michele Bachmann recently gave an interview to the conspiracy website WorldNetDaily urging voters to call House Republicans to block immigration reform because she fears immigrants will vote Democrat.

According to RightWingWatch.org, Bachmann warned that Republicans would lose control of the House of Representatives if any immigration reform legislation passes because President Barack Obama will then declare that illegal immigrants have the right to vote as he supposedly did in 2012 (video below).

"The president could wave his magic wand and say, 'Now, all of the new legal Americans are going to have voting rights.' Why do I say that? He did it in 2012. Do you remember? Anyone who was here as a Latina under age thirty. he said, 'You get to vote,'" Bachmann falsely claimed. "He decides you get to vote? If he did it in 2012, take it to the bank. he'll do it in 2014 and guess what will happen? Democrat in the White House, Democrats control the Senate, Democrats control the House. At that point they will change election law and it will be impossible to ever have a Republican majority again. Do we get how important this is?"

However, Obama did not give undocumented immigrants the right to vote in 2012. He did sign an executive order, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), granting people, who would be eligible for the DREAM Act, a reprieve from deportation.

The DACA did affect some individuals who immigrated illegally to the United States as children. The executive order did not grant citizenship or legal status, noted The Atlantic.
